Satoshi’s plan was simple. The RedRiver pack was to leave the mountain and travel around in and arching motion to pin the Ichigo from behind. The connection between Nino and Mao could be used easily once they figured out a system and given that there should be no connection between the two packs nobody would be expecting such a thing. Mao agreed to it readily. She was itching to deal with the Ichigo and she was finding it increasingly more difficult to be around Jun. Her brother hadn’t done or said anything to her but his actions and emotions were becoming more obvious and she could feel the worry he was giving out not wanting the Nova omega to know of their sickening bond. Mao didn’t want it either, she had omega she wanted but didn’t desire. Her alpha instinct was calling out for a true mate and pups but she couldn’t and didn’t want that with her brother.
“I will stay with the Nova, alpha” Koichi told her when she had explained the plan to him. “There are many in the caves that are sick and Yamapi and Jun can not take care of them all, the Nova beta can’t be moved at all and if the battle were to get this far...”
“I understand” Mao said as she gave a nod fully expecting his response. He was her beta and second but she had always known that he wasn’t happy with the RedRiver. He had joined her only to get revenge for his former lover and he had already gotten it. She had hoped that he would settle with the RedRiver pack for good and find a mate but he hadn’t.
“Just until the battle is won”
“Of course” She hummed though a part of her knew that when the battle was done, one way or another she will have lost her best beta. “Until then then”
“...Alpha, don’t die...” Koichi sighed as she walked passed him and Mao punched him on the shoulder knowing his response was as good as a good luck as she was going to get. The man had never been a word smith and it was unlikely to change now. She could remember when she had first found him not long after his lover had been killed. He had still been covered in Tsuyoshi’s blood and had been almost catatonic in grief. Power had rippled off of him in waves however and all he had wanted was for her to promise to get those that had done it. Mao had obliged.
“Yeah, you to” She muttered stalking down the mountain and barking orders to the rest of her pack.

Koichi watched his alpha leave and then felt somebody watching him from behind. He turned and saw the Nova’s strange omega. There was something...Odd about him. He was nothing like an omega should be and yet he was...The ultimate omega. Koichi had seen the way those in the cave responded when he walked in. Even those that were of the Ichigo once. The cute broken beta seemed to be only alive when the Omega was with him and although Jun had told him that it was because Tamaska could speak to Hua even when they were in different forms and although Koichi didn’t want to believe him he knew that he wasn’t lying.
“Can I help you with something?”
“Yes, Hua, my pack mate...” Tamaska said coming over to him and Koichi wondered if the omega had known what he had been thinking. He hadn’t meant it in any specific way. He still mourned the loss of his lover after all but he couldn’t deny that he thought Hua was cute.
“What about him?”
“I want you to talk to him, tell him a story, or whatever, Jun has told me that I have to stay out of my wolf form for a bit but Hua starts thinking when he is alone and if that happens he might do something stupid” Tamaska said and although he rolled his eyes Koichi was touched by the care the omega had for his packmate. The RedRiver pack didn’t have an alpha-omega though Jun’s bearer still worked at keeping the majority of the pack in line but she didn’t have the power Nino had.
“I will make sure to not let him get lost in his head. Is there anything else?”
“No...Oh...Yeah...Actually...You are alpha redrivers second right?” Tamaska hummed and Koichi felt a sigh building up inside him. He was used to people asking him that but he had hoped for more from the omega in front of him. He hadn’t acted scared of Mao at all and he as fully expecting his next question to be about her sire’s head. Koichi hadn’t been in the pack then so he didn’t know the truth of it but as far as he was aware the former alpha deserved everything he did get and more. He might not have been as bad as the Ichigo alpha but he was almost as bad.
“Yes”
“From your perspective, what kind of person is she?” Tamaska asked folding his arms against his chest leaning against a large rock. His face was unreadable but the line of questioning wasn’t going the way Koichi was expecting so he gave a honest answer.
“Stubborn, strong willed, forceful...Sometimes to a fault, she cares about her pack however, and she isn’t nearly as bad as the stories make out, though she does tend to enjoy the infamy that comes with them. Why?”
“I was scared of her before I met her, but now I have. She isn’t what I was expecting. Does she have a mate?”
“I doubt your alpha would be eager to share...” Koichi huffed and Tamaska let out a laugh before saying cheekily;
“Oh, too bad...I could use a second just in case. Though seriously, I ask because she seems lonely, that’s all”
“I think that sometimes she is, but she has never said anything to me”
“I see, sorry for being weird. I just wanted to know what kind of person she was. I better go, my alpha is calling me. Remember about Hua, you can’t let him get lost in his own thoughts and it will be even worse during the battle” Tamaska said rubbing his chest with the pad of his hand and Koichi gave a nod and a smile saluting the man before he walked off. Koichi shook his head and then headed into the cave.
Hua was laid out where he been since his accident. He was looking alert but the bruises were still discolouring his cute features. His eyes flickered upwards and he seemed to give a start but then gave something that almost resembled a smile.
“Hello, I’m Koichi, I don’t think I’ve properly introduced myself, I am the second of Alpha RedRiver. Your alpha’s omega asked me to keep you company as he has been told that he has to stay in human form for a bit. He’s okay, just Jun’s orders...He asked me if I would tell you a story. I have one...If you would like to hear it?” Koichi asked and although he didn’t answer he was positive that the beta seemed to nod in answer. “Okay”

Nino spied on Koichi and Hua for a moment or two before slipping back out of the cave and heading to his mate. Satoshi had called to him but he had ignored it wanting to see how Hua would react. Koichi seemed to be the distant sort but not in a bad way. He was somebody that could be good for Hua, Nino felt it in his gut.
“How is Hua?” Satoshi asked as Nino reached his side and Nino curled into him pressing his head under the alpha’s chin as he hummed in a soft voice;
“He’s good he was just about to be told a story when I left, what’s wrong?”
“Gao is down the hill. Sho stopped him from going up but he is insisting on my protection...”
