-I need to pee- Tamaska wrote nervously holding his sign to the beta Jun who had been looking after him while Satoshi ran with the rest of his pack. The beta nodded, wiping his hands on a cloth, and then came to the nest. He had learned that not only did Jun act as healer but, given the lack of delta or sigma or omega in the Nova pack, he also acted as cook preparing the meats that the others brought back. Tamaska had tried to help, it was his place after all and he had a need to serve the Nova pack, but Jun had absolutely refused. The beta held out his hand for him now and said softly;

“Come on, I’ll help you” The beta was gentle and Tamaska nodded slowly allowing him to help. Though the beta was slim in build he was actually pretty strong, and he was lifting him up from the nest rather than helping him. He didn’t know how long he had been in the nest, but he did know that his muscles were stiff from lack of use.

The beta carried him through the comfortable den to the outside world. He blinked as his eyes adjusted to the change in light. A rush of wind washed over him and he breathed in deep. Although the den had smelt nice it was stuffy with all the betas crammed together but out here everything smelt fresh and sweet. Once his eyes had adjusted, he looked out at his surroundings. He didn’t know what he was expecting outside the den but whatever it was wasn’t the dazzling display of colours that was before him. Flowers were everywhere he could see set against the backdrop of ancient trees. Birds were singling and he wondered if there was a magpie amongst them. Jun didn’t let him have long to look however as he led/carried him to a small outhouse set away from the main den but not too far out into the woods. Thankfully the beta didn’t follow him inside and he was allowed to take care of business in peace. He finished quickly and stepped back out.

“Have you done?” Jun asked leaning against the wall of the outhouse and Nino gave a nod that almost tore at his throat. He hadn’t slept since waking in the middle of the night; but he could feel wariness clinging to his bones now. He was disappointed that he couldn’t look around the outside of the den, but he was happy when Jun said “The alpha may bring you out here later but for now you should continue to rest…Come on little omega…” Jun picked him up and carried him back into the den.

It was a log cabin. Small but comfortable. The majority of the space was made up of the two nests with the beta nest being the larger which was typical in the pack system. Tamaska didn’t know why he remembered that but not his name, but it seemed to be something engrained inside him. When the alpha took a mate only, they would share the alpha’s nest with any young that they might have while the rest of the pack tended to sleep together in a tangle of limbs even when they took mates. It was strange that Tamaska was allowed to be in the alpha’s nest. It made him feel special, but he pushed those feelings aside focusing instead on how tired he was. Jun lay him down in the centre of Satoshi’s nest and he almost immediately closed his eyes and fell back to sleep.

Satoshi had always enjoyed the freedom of running in his wolf with his pack but today he was tense. His wolf was hankering to be back in the den in his nest with the omega. He pushed the anxious thoughts away telling himself that he had left with the Omega in the best possible hands with Jun, but the alpha was refusing to believe that. Jun was a powerful beta, but he was alpha he should be the one to look after his omega. Satoshi tried to rationalise that Tamaska wasn’t his omega, but the alpha disagreed. Tamsaka wasn’t mated he could smell that he was still a virgin, he was still too young to change into his wolf yet. Most wolves changed into their wolves when they were 18 years old Tamaska seemed to be only 16 or 17.

“Alpha…Do you wish to return to the pack?” His second, Sakurai Sho, asked with a whine through their pack bond and Satoshi let out a wolfie laugh bumping up against his second. “…You never cared for finding a mate before”

“I am still young yet, but every pack needs an omega…” Satoshi hummed trying to be as clear minded as possible but it was a difficult task when his alpha felt as though it was stalking around inside him like a caged beast. He had never had difficulty in accepting his alpha side, his father had trained him well enough that when the time came and he went off in search of his own pack and territory he had easily found strong beta who accepted him as their leader. He and his alpha had always felt as though they were one sadly that seemed not to be the case at the moment. It was normal, his alpha was a creature built on instinct and Tamaska brought out a lot of the instincts he had been pushing aside. “If he is to stay with us, it can’t be a bad thing”

“No, and he is beautiful…You named him well, Alpha, Tamaska…Beautiful wolf…” Sho laughed as Satoshi snarled in his embarrassment. He lunged a little too rough to be playful snapping at the neck of his beta before controlling himself.

“I think you are right, I will return to the den. Keep travelling north, I will send Jun to you”

“As you wish” Sho bowed his head submissively but Satoshi could still see amusement in the brown eyes of the other wolf. He turned on his paws and ran back through his forests jumping over the river and scaring some of the birds that had covered the floor searching for food. He didn’t stop running until he reached the clearing that held his den. He was proud of the work that had been put into the den. He had always enjoyed flowers and wild things and he hoped that the flowers would grow up all sides of the cabin and encase it in their beauty. Shifting back into his human form he sniffed the air checking for danger before heading inside the warm den. Jun was pottering around in the kitchen area making up more soups for Tamaska and the omega himself was laid in the nest sleeping peacefully.

“Alpha, I didn’t expect you back yet, are the others?”

“They are carrying on to the north, you should go join them, I will finish here and take care of Tamaska” Satoshi hummed knowing his eyes hadn’t left the pale face of the omega. He was beautiful while he slept looking almost like a doll with a glass face and dark lashes that framed his eyes and stood out with perfect contrast. His wolf would be white or grey given his colouring and Satoshi hoped that Tamaska would be with the Nova pack when he first came into his heritage. He sat on the nest, barely noticing Jun shifting into his wolf and leaving the den, picking up the book Tamaska had claimed to use to write and flipped it over from the words so he might sketch the omega sleeping before him.

A/N: I hope that this is okay…Sorry…I had heatstroke yesterday and I only started to recover at about 11 last night so I wrote this then >.< I know I keep whining but 40 is not a temperature I am used to >.< Hopefully it will break soon
