The wedding feast was long but not unenjoyable and Kazunari, still dressed as Kazumi sat beside Lord Sakurai as his husband still feeling stunned that Sho knew who he was and was still giving him gentle touches and besotted smiles throughout the evening. For his part Kazunari was also giving warm shy smiles and responding to the touches in a kitten like manner. He tried his best to act like his sister would but if he were honest he was far too happy.

“Are you ready?” Sho whispered in his ear a little before ten that night and Kazunari blinked almost stupidly and inclined his head leaving the lord to whisper “It is our wedding night my love, it is normal that we should leave the feast early and retire to bed” Kazunari blushed furiously at the words looking down at the plate of food that was before him. He had never been a big eater and today was no exception. Around them there were a few course laughs in his direction and a few comments about virgins but Sho silenced them all with a look. “Ignore them, nothing shall happen tonight that you don’t want, my love, I am in no rush we have our whole lives to learn each other...”

“I...I will be a good...Wife”

“I know, but there is no need to worry about that tonight, my love” Sho breathed standing up slowly and holding out his hand to him. Slowly Kazunari took it surprised at how warm it was against his own. As he stood everyone in the great hall turned to look at them and Kazunari immediately searched out his sister. Kazumi was sitting at the back of the room playing cards with some men that he didn’t recognise. She had gone over well with the men arrived from the military and they were all convinced that she was him. Kazumi probably pulled it off better than he was doing as her. Kazumi turned to look at him along with the rest of the hall and she lifted her goblet of wine and winked at him before giving him a grin. “Your...Brother is happy for us”

“Yes...He...He has always been fond of you...” Kazunari whispered back trying to keep his voice light. Kazumi thankfully had a deeper voice than most women and he was naturally softer spoken but if he wasn’t careful it would be easy to see that he was not Kazumi. Sho might not mind the deception but almost everyone else would.

“And I am fond of him, our talks in the fields around my home were some of the most refreshing I have ever known...The army is getting a fine soldier today however and I wish him the greatest luck and thank him for the gift he has given me today...In making sure that you came to our wedding”

The meaning was very clear to Kazunari and he flushed a little more inclining his head as he took a half step closer to his husband. Sho’s arm circled around his waist and a kiss landed on his cheek.

“I am happy also” He breathed back and Kazunari was surprised when his father let out a laugh saying loudly to the people around him.

“And she let us believe that she didn’t like the match. Of course we knew better, Lord Sho is a fine man and she will be a good wife to him”

“You are correct, Lord Ninomiya, your child will be the best partner I could have asked for, but if you will excuse us...”

“Of course, go claim what is yours” Kazunari was almost horrified when his father gave a suggestive wink. Sho’s arm circled him even more protectively and then led him through the hall and out through the large double doors at the end. Although he had spent a great deal of time with Sho this was the first time in his home. It was beautiful and as large as it appeared from the outside. The majority of it was single story but a large tower was in the centre decorated in gold and red, almost the same as the outfit he was wearing.

“Would you like to walk the garden, Kazunari? You are looking tense...”

“No, I’m fine....i was just thinking that this is the first time I have been in your home” Kazunari hummed with a shy smile as Sho led him to the garden anyway. The perfumed scent of flowers circled around them and Kazunari breathed it in smelling the crisp scent before sighing happily as Sho said;

“Your home as well, now you are my partner”

“You don’t mind?”

“There is nothing I mind less, my sweet Kazunari, my heart has always been yours. I would have married your sister as it was my duty to do so but she would have found me lacking as a husband” Sho hummed carefully helping him down the three steps that would take them to the water garden.

“You could never be lacking...You are a good man...”

“I meant only that I could not...Act as husband to her not in the way I can with you...You are young, perhaps you don’t fully understand...You love me don’t you, Kazunari?” Sho asked as they stood in a stone summer house that looked out over the koi pond and Kazunari nodded slowly his tongue lightly moving over his lips as he breathed;

“Yes”

“And do you...Desire me?”

“Desire”

“When you are with me, alone like now..” Sho said in a soft voice, like one would use on a frightened animal. “Do you wish for me to kiss you and touch you?”

“...Yes...” Kazunari answered flushing brightly as his stomach twisted with nerves and shame. Sho gave him a soft smile and brushed his thumb against his lips as his fingers caressed his cheek and jawline.

“Don’t be ashamed, that is desire, it is what I feel when I am with you...But not when I am with your sister...or any woman...My desire is only for you...” After making his statement Sho moved forward and claimed his lips in a hungry kiss that left Kazunari clinging to him breathless a heat coiling in his stomach.
