Satoshi’s Pov

To say that Satoshi was surprised to receive a phone from Jun asking him to join the family and Nino for dinner was an understatement though he was even more surprised when a living, breathing goddess cheerfully introduced herself as Marie and told him she had come to act as driver. When he had been at school he had been allowed to go to Europe and study the art of the Greeks and Romans and he was positive that Marie Matsumoto was the statue of Aphrodite come to life. A long time ago he had wanted to be a painter or a sculptor but the real world had come in and he had been forced into a job.

His father had gotten it for him so he hadn’t been able to complain but it wasn’t what he had wanted. He had told himself, time and time again that it would just be a stop gap, something that would earn him money to live his dream but now he had Nino to think about. His parents hadn’t left any money and Nino was bright and intelligent, he deserved to go to the best college and make something of himself. He was old now his dreams didn’t matter but looking at Marie made him want to work with clay again.

“Your brother is so adorable, and it’s rare that Kins makes friends” Marie hummed softly at his side and for a moment Satoshi was confused before she giggled prettily and said “Sorry, Kins is my nickname for Jun...Junnikins...He’s so serious all the time that it’s fun to tease him sometimes...You must have nicknames for Nino ne?”

“Just Nino...Um...Are you a model?” Satoshi blurted out causing the woman to stare at him and then grin wide to flash her teeth as she said in the same cheerful way she had been talking the whole journey.

“Huh? No! I’m working as a dental assistant in my aunts practice but wow! Talk about flattery!” She gasped her cheeks turning the faintest shade of pink as her the fleshy part of her ears went a very deep red. Satoshi was convinced that he had made the situation awkward and he quickly tried to explain that he wasn’t weird.

“Sorry! That came out...Um...I mean...I used to be an artist...I did sculpture and paintings...I thought you...I mean I thought you must get asked that all the time...”

“Never once...I’m a wolf people tend to avoid talking to me unless they are another wolf...” She answered honestly her face and ears still pink. “So, when you say you used to be?”

“I grew up and got a job...”

“The downfall of all artists...Um...You think I could be a model then? Or do you just say that to all the girls” She teased her eyes sparkling in her face as she pulled into a parking space and turned to look at him and Satoshi suddenly wished that he was mute like Nino and he hadn’t made himself sound like a creepy uncle.

“No, I’ve never said it to anyone before. I mean...I’ve never seen anyone as beautiful as you before...I mean...Urgh...Sorry...” He groaned well aware that he was just digging a deeper and deeper hole for himself. Marie on the other hand didn’t seem to mind, though her cheeks were colouring even more, she studied him through half closed eyes for a moment and then hummed;

“Well, if you ever find time to sculpt or paint again and need a model I would like it...I mean...I would happily agree...”

“Thank-you, I didn’t mean to...I mean...You have to know you’re beautiful...” Satoshi shrunk down into the car seat so much that the belt around his neck started pinching at his skin. His face was bright red and Marie laughed airily breathing;

“Wow! If you keep piling on the praise I might start expecting a date...”

“I...I would love that! If you...I mean...I weren’t so...Honestly I think I would only afford a coffee...”

“Coffee would be good...If you’re asking...”

“Um...Yeah?” Satoshi asked his eyebrows knitting slightly together unsure what the hell had just happened. Never in his life was he this talkative. People he had worked with for years could only manage to get one or two words out of him a day but now here he was spluttering like an idiot to a beautiful girl. Marie’s cheeks dimpled and her head cocked to one side as she almost purred;

“I look forward to it...Come on, we should go in, I bet your adorable baby brother is waiting for you”

“Um...Yeah...Right...Un...Let’s go in...”

*Nino’s PoV*

Nino shifted uncomfortably in his seat his hand clinging to Jun’s as he tried to avoid eye contact with the various Matsumoto family members. Jun hadn’t been joking when he had said that the entire pack lived together. There was easily twenty of them and almost all were as friendly as Jun’s parents and Ari. Only a few of the largest males and females had eyed him sceptically and Jun had told him why, they were the packs guardians. Things weren’t always easy in the pack as a lot of the prey hybrids and some of the predators tried to get them removed. Things had lessened over the years but there was a deep mistrust, it was the reason that wolf hybrids were home schooled until they were of an age when they could take care of themselves.

“I’m home!” A cheerful voice called and Nino looked up to see Marie coming into the room with Satoshi a few steps behind her. Almost without thinking Nino jumped up from the chair and ran to his brother throwing his arms around him in a hug before writing furiously into his book.

“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to act like that! I don’t blame you for not telling me! I’m so sorry!”

“It’s okay, I can understand” Satoshi whispered hugging him back before saying “We can talk more later okay? I’m sorry for interrupting your meal”

“Nonsense! We have a chair and a plate ready for you, please come sit! Ah sorry, I should introduce myself, no? Matsumoto Cassandra but please call me Cass...Please sit”

“Ohno-Ninomiya Satoshi, thank-you for taking care of my brother” Satoshi said bowing politely before Marie showed him to a spot next to him and Jun. “Thank-you”

“You are welcome, please eat and enjoy...” Cass smiled happily while the patriarch of the entire family, Jun’s grandfather another Jun, smiled holding up his glass in their direction.

“Nice to have you here” He said speaking for probably the first time since Nino had met him “I knew an Ohno once. A pretty gal...Long hair and the largest most adorable ears I’ve ever seen on a hybrid, saved the love of my life...Must be fate that brought you here tonight, ne...”

That was a good laugh Satoshi talked himself into a date.... I wonder if the ohno juns grandfather knew was ninos grandma or if it’s got anything to do with being fated?

I was giggling throughout Ohno's part XD Oh God, I probably shouldn't but oh well <3

So Jun's grandfather knows Ohno's family interesting :D I'm so sure that the Matsumoto's will help them to stay afloat somehow >< I know they won't take charity but if both of them are with Jun and Marie they will probably be welcomed to the pack
