Nino’s eyes shifted under his lids as he pressed further into the warmth that he was pressed against. It had felt so long since he had been so comfortable and so at peace. He hadn’t felt this way since his parents had died and he didn’t want it to end and he had a strong feeling that if he opened his eyes he would lose the feeling. Sadly he felt the pressing need to pee pushing into his body and he groaned before pulling his eyes open one by one. The first thing he became aware of were ears. They were smaller than his own, and black, only not all black. There was blue, brown, and grey mixed with the black fur covering each ear as well. I was a mix that he had never seen on anybody before and smiled a little before realising that his tail was curled up against another tail. It was longer and thinner than his own but somehow it was beautiful and protective curled up around his own. Looking passed the ears and the tail his mind started to piece together the information it had stored and he realised that he was curled up with the wolf-hybrid Matsumoto Jun.

A look at the face confirmed this, and Nino swallowed his heart jumping as he remembered what had happened and how he had reacted. He had clung to Jun as though only he could save him and his arms were still securely wrapped around the wolf who seemed to be sleeping quite peacefully his breath coming out in gentle pulses through his nose. This close to Nino could see faint scaring on the wolf’s skin around his cheek and his nose and he wondered if he had been in a fight and then he realised that it was probably from acne. It wasn’t unattractive, in fact the little imperfections on his skin seemed to make him more attractive but he couldn’t imagine the wolf ever having acne like other teens.

“Are you awake now, Ohno-kun?” A soft voice asked from behind him and Nino squeaked pulling his eyes away from Jun to look at the school nurse. She was wearing the same white medical coat that the nurse had worn in his old school but there was something about the mouse-hybrid that was a lot more relaxed than his old school nurse. She had the round ears of her kind and a thin almost hairless tail poking out behind her but her aura wasn’t meek or mild like a mouse hybrid should be. Nino had a feeling that she was the type of person that wouldn’t take nonsense from anyone and he supposed that a prey hybrid would have to have that attitude in a school full of teen predators. She did seem nice though and she was smiling at him warmly. “How are you feeling?” Nino looked around for his little notebook he had been writing in and the nurse produced it a few seconds later after finding it on the floor by the bed. “Here you go, sorry, I forgot that the headmaster had told us...”

“It’s my fault. I am pathetic” Nino wrote glad that he was able to use both his right and left hands to right as right now his right arm was trapped under the warm body of the wolf-hybrid.

“You are not pathetic, Ohno-kun...”

“Nino! Ohno is my brother...” Nino wrote slowly the need to pee pressing at his bladder again and he wrote quickly “Is there a toilet I can use?”

“I have my own, over there...” The nurse answered jerking to the other side of the medical wing and Nino smiled before trying to get his arm free. He didn’t want to wake Jun who was sleeping soundly. Of course the nurse didn’t seem to have that same problem. “Jun-kun, it’s wake-y, wake-y time...Come on sleeping beauty...”

“Ugphn...” Jun moaned rolling away from Nino and almost falling off the bed. Instinct took over at the last minute and he flailed around for a moment before grabbing the bed and holding himself up as he opened his eyes quickly and looked around the room. Seeing the nurse and Nino watching him his face immediately went red and he sat up pushing long hair out of his face. “You’re awake...Good...”

“Sorry...For falling to sleep on you...Thank-you...For being nice...” Nino wrote chewing awkwardly on his lip before getting up from the bed and darting in the direction the nurse had pointed to. The door came into view quite quickly once he got passed the curtain and he dived into the toilet to relieve himself. Coming out a few minutes later he saw that Jun had moved away from the bed now and was standing with his back against the wall. The nurse was chatting happily to somebody else and when she moved Nino’s stomach sank to see his brother standing there looking awkward and nervous in his suit.

“Nino, your teacher called me...I’m sorry that I only just got here...” Satoshi said ignoring the nurse and coming to squeeze his shoulder and Nino scowled. He knew that Sho had told him that he would have to tell Satoshi but he had hoped that he would have told him that it wasn’t that serious and that he didn’t need to leave work early to come and get him. He really was pathetic. “My shift finished a little early today...” Satoshi hummed awkwardly and Nino knew he had guessed what he was thinking. The notebook and pen were on the bed and Nino grabbed them quickly writing;

“I didn’t want you to come. I’m sorry, Nii-chan...I didn’t mean for you to miss work”

“I know, I have asked for overtime this weekend to make up for it. It will be fine, Nino, I promise...” Satoshi hummed as he turned to look at the wolf-hybrid. He studied him for a moment and then bowed deeply. “Thank-you for looking after my precious brother”

+ Jun PoV+

Jun started in surprise and amusement at the word precious. He had suspected it from the moment the older man had come in red faced and sweaty, that he had a brother complex but it was more than a little obvious now. The brother’s made an interesting pair, they looked nothing alike at all, except the overly large ears and bushy tail but even their colours weren't the same, the older of the pair was stockier with a chubby tanned face and sleepy eyes. He was cute but not in the same adorable way as his brother. The age difference between them was surprising and uncommon in canine hybrids. They normally had multiple children or children one after another. Of course his parents were also an exception. They had only him and his sister but that was due to his mother having suffered a cyst on her ovary which had developed into a tumour. The hospital had saved her life but other children had been taken off the table.

“I didn’t really do much”

“So modest, Jun has been a star in keeping Nino-kun calm and relaxed...” The nurse chuckled her ears twitching in a playful way and Jun had a feeling the rodent hybrid liked the looks of Nino’s older brother. “It warmed my heart to see it”

“Thank-you” Nino’s brother said again looking at him with a lifted eyebrow. “Sakurai-sensei said that he would be here...”

“I will go look for him...” Jun said not liking the way he was being stared at, he had an awful feeling that the man was going to shoo him off and warn him not to get near Nino again. He wasn’t afraid of the threat, he didn’t know what hybrid the pair were but he was sure that he would win in any kind of fight. The problem was he didn’t know why he would fight if he was told that. The nurse’s comment about fated pair came back to him in a flesh but he ignored it. There was no way it could be that. Fated Pairs only happened in the movies or sappy books. He was about to flee the medical bay when Sho came in followed by Masaki who was looking a little confused and nervous.

“Ohno-Ninomiya-san...I’m sorry for what happened...and for being late...” Sho said with a polite bow which was returned quickly. “I was speaking with the headmaster about what action he was going to take...” Jun could see from the expression on his teachers face that he wasn’t happy with whatever it was the headmaster had said and Jun was immediately prepared to be angry. “The headmaster has decided that it was just childish hijinks. He thinks that Matsumoto-san misunderstood the situation...”

“Like fuck I did...”

“I know, but your word against theirs...” Sho looked apologetic and Jun scowled a muscle in his jaw pulsating before he grumbled;

“Cause I’m a wolf...”

“Yes, I’m sorry, Jun-kun. But I want you to know that even if the headmaster is unwilling to see passed his own nose I am not the same, I will do my best to make sure that nothing happens like this again...”

I hope that Ohno won't shoo Jun away. I think he would be more than happy to know that Nino has a friend already that will protect him. Especially now that the head teacher won't do anything <3
I hope he asks Jun to protect his precious brother from any dumb bullies XD
