Ohno Satoshi was an alpha. He had been Alpha of the Arashi pack for almost six years, ever since he had reached his 20th birthday and completed his right to challenge the old alpha of their pack. It had been fierce battle but he had won and everybody in the pack had been relieved. The old alpha was not a well liked woman. She had abused her power thrashing the beta for the smallest of infractions. She had tried to do the same to those that would one day grow into Alpha. The rest of the alpha in the pack had been forced to move on and start their own packs when they had lost the challenge. Satoshi had shown her the same kindness. Given her age it had been unlikely that she would find a new pack to take her in but Satoshi didn’t care.
The only reason that he had even took the right of challenge was because of the way the alpha had treated the only omega in their pack. Ninomiya Kazunari...Nino...The boy hadn’t been born in their pack, he had stumbled into it one day when he had been five years old. His feet had been bloody his hair matted and his face pale with tear stains. He had screamed for the first five days and then he had acted as Satoshi’s little shadow following him around everywhere and helping him bring fire wood and the like. Satoshi could still remember the boy running up behind him carrying twigs and sticks looking proud as though he had brought an entire tree.
That had changed when the boy had turned ten. He had started to show that he would be an omega and the alpha had decided that only she would be worthy of interacting with him. She had kept him on a leash dragging him around wherever she wanted. Satoshi had reached his 20th birthday that same year and he had challenged her and he had made sure he’d won. Nino was his little shadow, his omega, his...Everything.
Nino had been so proud of him. His face had ached from how much he had been smiling and Satoshi had been pleased Nino was happy. He didn’t realise just why Nino was so important to him. Not until this year when the Omega had reached his 16th birthday and one of the Beta, Matsumoto Jun, had asked permission to court him. Satoshi had been furious, with himself, with the beta, with the world in general. He had told himself if that was what Nino wanted then he would give his permission. He hadn’t wanted to but more than anything he wanted Nino’s happiness. He had asked the Omega about it and Nino had looked him directly in the eye and said ‘I like Jun but only as a friend. I am yours...I’ve always been yours alpha...’
Jun hadn’t been happy when Satoshi had refused his request but he had accepted it more when he realised that Nino was Satoshi’s chosen mate. They hadn’t mated yet, or even bonded, as Nino hadn’t gone through his first heat yet...Or at least he hadn’t until three days ago. The morning it had started they had rushed to get ready. It was amusing that they had three days, which would take them today, Satoshi’s birthday. They couldn’t have asked for better timing. Satoshi wanted to laugh at that. It was like a cheesy story. But in truth he was glad that for his birthday he would be getting the sweetest present he could have ever known. He would be getting Nino. All of him, as today under the full moon he would also be bonding with his omega.
“Alpha, are you ready?” Sakurai Sho asked coming into his room with a respectful bow. Sho was a fellow alpha who had given over his right to serve at his side as second in command. He had bonded young, far too young in fact, with a beta from another pack. The betas pack had been furious and Masaki had been brought to their pack. Masaki and Nino had similar attitudes to life and the same sense of humour so they had become firm friends very quickly. Masaki would be acting as Nino’s server today while Sho would be acting as Satoshi’s second. The second had to promise to take care of the firsts partner if the worst should happen and Satoshi could think of nobody better to take care of Nino if something happened to him. Not that he intended anything to happen but the second was an important part of a bonding.
“More than I’ve been ready for anything in my life...” Satoshi answered with a smile at his second and Sho rolled his eyes and came over fixing his tie for him and smoothing out his hair. “Have you seen Nino?”
“No, but nobody but the server is meant to see your mate for three days before the bonding...” Sho sighed rolling his eyes again and Satoshi scowled up at the man before glancing at himself in the full length mirror once more. He knew that, Nino was meant to take the three days to build them a secure...Nest. Where they would commit to the more physical side of bonding. You were the one that insisted on a full bonding...”
“I know, but it is the most secure bonding...” Satoshi shrugged deciding that he would pass. He looked attractive, at least he knew that much, and the only person he wanted to impress was Nino who had seen him at his worst. “Is it time?”
“Why else do you think I’m here, alpha? Come on...It’s time to head to the clearing...”
“The moon is bright right?”
“Yup, not a cloud in the sky. It’s perfect for your perfect bonding...” Sho told him ushering him out of the room. The pack was standing in two lines facing each other they didn’t speak as they passed but bowed the ones joining in behind as they walked through the arch. The positions on the two lines was purposely done showing the position of everyone in the pack. Only Sho was allowed to walk beside him but after tonight that would change. Nino would be at his side and Sho would move back a place with Masaki.
As his second had told him, the sky was perfectly clear and the full moon was breath taking as it held in the black sky surrounded by a million and one stars. They twinkled as though they were also excited and Satoshi smiled shaking off his thoughts as he looked to the clearing. There was only one person standing in the centre of the clearing. He was wearing a white robe that brushed against the grass. His feet were bare and his black hair was decorated with dozens of evergreens and red berries. The moon was directly above his head and the glow bathed his pale skin in a creamy white light.
Nino...His beloved. Satoshi began to hasten his steps wanting to be beside the man who had been missing to him for only three days and yet he had felt it as though it was an eternity. Sho stopped walking with him as they reached the last of the trees and Satoshi continued on alone to his love. The pack would move to form a circle with Masaki over on the far side away from Sho but Satoshi didn’t pay any attention to that but only looked at his Omega who smiled and then curtsied. He was careful not to disturb the arrangement on his head but a few berries slipped lightly caressing his cheek before he pushed them back.
“Alpha...I hope I please you...I come to you unashamed and unspoiled...Do you accept?” Nino asked...The traditional words that started the bonding and Satoshi struggled for a moment to remember how he was meant to respond knowing that if he messed it up he could ruin the bonding and they would have to wait a whole month before they could try again.
“I accept your sweet offer, you please me beyond measure...” Satoshi answered with a little more shakiness to his tone than he would have liked or expected but Nino smiled lowing his head to oppose his neck to him.
“I have nothing but myself to give, alpha”
“Nothing but you is perfect, Omega, I give you myself and my pack...Do you accept?”
“I accept with a glad heart and honour. I hope that your pack will be my pack...” Nino muttered though it was rather pointless as Nino was already a well loved member of his pack. It was traditional though and Satoshi smiled and nodded looking around at the pack.
“Pack. Do you accept the omega Ninomiya Kazunari as my mate?” He asked and Sho took a half step forward and called back in a clear voice;
“I speak for the pack, alpha...We do...”
“Will you treat him with the same respect that you show me...?” Satoshi asked and this time Masaki came forward a huge grin on his face as he waved at them barely managing to say his words seriously;
“I speak for the pack, alpha, we do...”
“Will you bless our union under the holy mother of the night?” Satoshi looked towards Jun at this point the young beta still looked a little upset but he stepped forward and answered in a clear voice;
“I speak for the pack, alpha...We bless your union with glad hearts and much love...”
“I speak now to you, Sakurai Sho...As my second, my friend...If ill should befall me, if I am no longer able to care for the mate I take here tonight...Will you take him as your own? Will you treasure him, and protect him?”
“I speak with my heart alpha, I will take him, though I will hope that I will never need to. I wish you years of happiness...” Sho answered with a grin and a wink and Satoshi returned it a little before taking Nino’s hand in his own and pressing a kiss to his knuckles.
“I speak to you now, my love, will you accept me as your bonded, your lover, and your alpha?”
“I answer for myself, alpha, with all my heart I will accept you as everything you have said and more...Will you accept me? Knowing my weaknesses, my faults, and my past?” Nino asked suddenly looking extremely nervous and Satoshi squeezed his hand before kissing it again.
“I accept you, your weaknesses, your faults, your past...I accept them and love them...” Satoshi answered clearly before they both turned to look at the moon and said together.
“We speak to you oh blessed mother moon, grant us your favour and watch over us as we start this new stage of our lives. Bless our bonding...” Nino stiffened against him as they waited with baited breaths. The whole pack was waiting for a sign that the blessed mother moon had granted them their blessing. Seconds ticked by and then slowly a single pure white feather floated down from the empty sky and landed on their joined hands. Nino looked bewildered at it his mouth open in awe and Satoshi smiled happily before picking it up and holding it high into the air shouting;
“Blessed are we that have been given the blessing of our holy mother moon. You here, my pack, my family, and my friends. You bear witness to the union blessed by the moon herself...”
“Blessed are you who walk with the grace of the moon. Blessed is the moon who guides our way in the dark...” The pack chanted back softly while Satoshi quickly took some silver thread from his pocket and fashioned the feather into a necklace.
“From this moment under the gaze of our mother you are mine and I am yours...” Satoshi whispered putting the feather around Nino’s neck before pressing a kiss to his cheek. The omega flushed prettily and then let out a giggle before jumping at him and wrapping his arms around his neck squeezing him tightly.
“I love you! Happy birthday”
“Thank-you, I love you too...Thank-you for the amazing present...” Satoshi chuckled cupping the omegas bum and lifting him up against his body before crushing his mouth onto his. The formality of their bonding over the pack came into the clearing and wished them congratulations but Satoshi was lost in Nino’s mouth and thoughts of unwrapping his present later.

A/N: I wanted to write something for Ohno's birthday...I have absolutely no idea where this came from...Though the ceremony is based heavily on a hand-fasting >.< I hope that this is okay >.<
