krystalkatzficz Satoshi arrived to the gate of his home with a thumping headache and a sickly feeling that had settled behind his eyes for the best part of the day. He couldn’t remember when he had last been this tired and all he wanted was to sit and snuggle with Nino and stroke his stomach. The man was really starting to show now, the baby bum having sprung out of nowhere in the last three weeks. Stretch marks also discoloured his skin but Satoshi loved them, they were a sign that Nino was having his baby and he was proud that Nino had snapped at Aiba when the man had suggested he rub cream in to them to help fade them.
The pea gravel crunched under his feet and he frowned with concern when he saw that the front door was open and the dogs were silent. They almost always barked when somebody walked on the drive, more so if the door was open and they could hear them coming. It was strange for Nino or even the nurse Mala to leave it open. A sickening feeling clawed at him and he ran indoors noticing that there was blood on the wall near the door and a vase of flowers was on the floor the water having spilled into the carpet.
“Kazunari? Shrestha-san?” He shouted weakly skidding to a stop in the living room his briefcase forgotten somewhere along the journey. The house was in silence the French doors leading to the lake were open and the floor was sodden as though somebody had been swimming. Nino still liked to paddle but he wasn’t daft enough to go swimming in this weather. “Kazunari?!” He shouted again running to their bedroom and then Mala’s not seeing even a trace of the pair or the dogs. Tears burned in his eyes and he moved back to the living area his heart jumping up to his throat when he saw a man, a policeman standing near the sofa. “What happened? Where is my partner and his nurse? Please...”
“Ohno-san? Ohno Satoshi-san?” The policeman asked in an annoyingly calm voice and Satoshi tried to remember that the man was just doing his job but he was growling when he nodded and said;
“Yes, please...Where is Kazunari?”
“He’s in the hospital, sir, there has been an incident...” The words cut into Satoshi sharply and he sagged into the chair closest to him. The headache he had had earlier had faded away into nothing his heart was in his mouth now.
“What happened? The baby?”
“Do you know Chinen Yuri?” The man asked sounding compassionate but professional and Satoshi suddenly felt cold all over. He nodded again and whispered;
“He is my husband...At least my ex-husband...Please, I understand that you have to do your job but I need to know what has happened to my lover and the baby”
“I’m sorry” The policeman said softly relaxing his stance and sat down in the chair opposite him. It was Nino’s chair, he always sat there and Satoshi found it odd that was what he was thinking about. Satoshi rubbed his hands over his trousers as the man opposite cleared his throat before saying “Your nurse, Shr-She...The nurse said that your former husband entered your home about half an hour ago. He attacked Sh...The nurse in the entrance hall and then proceeded to push your lover into the lake. Your lover hit his head on some of the rocks out there and lost consciousness. The nurse recovered and fought your former husband and then dived into the water and fetched your lover out...”
“And Nino?”
“I’m sorry, I don’t know, I am only here to secure the scene. Another officer was going to your office to inform you and take you to the hospital” The man smiled gently now but Satoshi ignored it getting to his feet as his phone started to ring urgently in his pocket. He pulled it out and saw that it was Sho. It took him a minute to realise that Sho would know if the police had arrived at the office.
“Sho...?”
“No-No! It’s Masaki” Masaki shouted down the line sounding as though he was crying and it was enough for Satoshi to start crying. The phone slipped from his hand the police man caught it and Satoshi was dimly aware of him talking to Masaki before his hand came to rest on his back.
“Ohno-san, let’s get you to the hospital. I’m sure that everything will be okay...” The man said in an almost fatherly way and Satoshi felt that it was a little strange as he was sure the man was younger than him.
“What...What about Chinen? Has he been arrested?” Satoshi growled recovering a little as they started to walk to the door. The officer cleared his throat and then said with almost a smirk;
“He has been read his rights but he is also in the hospital. Your nurse was rather violent”
“If he is still alive she wasn’t violent enough” Satoshi growled darkly and the police officer cleared his throat and then said quickly;
“I will pretend that I didn’t hear that. If you do anything...I will have to arrest you”
“All I want is to see my lover and know that he is alive and safe” Satoshi spat. The officer gave a hum but otherwise stayed silent. Satoshi was led out of his garden and down the road a little where a police car was parked. It was a strange feeling to be helped into the police car where he had never been in one before. He couldn’t help but feel that his mind was thinking of strange, unimportant things, he supposed that it was his minds way of trying to protect him from the awful truth.
The trip to the hospital was surprisingly short but it was an extremely long trek to the reception. The nurse before him looked a little surprised but Satoshi felt his heart thump inside his chest as she said;
“Ninomiya-san is in the intensive care ward...I’m sorry, he hasn’t regained consciousness yet...”
“Where...Where is he?” Satoshi managed to ask though his voice was trembling and the nurse smiled gently and then held a phone to her ear saying;
“I will get a nurse to take you...”
“Shrestha, my husband’s nurse...Please...I need...I want...I’m sorry, I’m not...My head...” Satoshi explained and the nurse smiled with yet more compassion and nodded as the phone against her ear saying;
“I will find her”

And Nino... he will have his baby early? I don't remember of how many months he is pregnant... but I hope he can recovers soon!!!!
