“Yay!” Nino shouted as Sho finally passed a level on the game. Sho smiled proudly at the omega his heart bubbling with pride and joy at the look that was on Nino’s face. They had been at it for almost two hours and for a long time it had felt as though he really was a hopeless case. He just didn’t seem to have the knack that Nino did of focusing on the game and not the controllers. Nino wasn’t as strict a teacher as he would have liked to believe, in fact he was extremely encouraging even when he had to keep coming back to revive him with health. “You did it!”

“Finally, I’m never gonna be a master” Sho mumbled running his fingers through his hair lightly before looking around hopefully for a burger joint. He was starting to get a little hungry and from the way the omega’s stomach was growling every so often Nino was as well.

“Nope, but that’s okay, I’m pretty sure that you could beat me at everything else...Well maybe not baseball, I’m actually pretty good at that” Nino said with a light laugh his face pinched with nerves. He had been like that for a while and Sho was starting to wonder what was wrong with him. Nino had been less careful about his omeganess all day often letting out his scent every so often when he thought that Sho was getting too stressed.

“I’ve never really been a fan of baseball, I was always more into rugby” Sho said not wanting to admit that he had never been a physical person. Physical education lessons had always been a chore and he had been glad when rain or something else had prevented them from being taken place.

“I’m not surprised, typical Alpha...Something you can prove your strength with”

“Yeah, I guess, so do you wanna get something to eat and drink?” He asked softly and Nino smirked his eyes flashing just a little playfully and Sho seem how had the feeling that he wasn’t going to get out of playing games any time soon. Nino put some more money into the slot and said;

“Not until you’ve beat this level again. Come on, you can’t quit after one win, it could have been a fluke”

“...Right...Okay...” Sho nodded with a laugh as the music started up. His fingers moved to settle over the buttons and joystick as Nino had shown him and he focused his eyes on the screen. It was easier the second time round, of course he still got stuck a few times but unlike before he got himself out of it. Nino applauded him again before pressing his lips to his cheek.

“Well done. You can do it if you put your mind to it” The omega purred and Sho flushed under the praise liking the sound of Nino’s purr. It was soft, uncertain, but it called to his alpha and although Alpha’s didn’t purr he had the feeling that he wanted to be the first that did. Shaking away such silly thoughts he mumbled;

“It’s only one game”

“Most games are similar though. The controls almost always do the same thing...Unless you’re switching consoles but most of the games here are the same...” Nino explained with a shrug linking his arm through his and walking him around the machines that were closest to them and pointing at the logos that were on the side. “Just make sure you only go on Nintendo and you will be fine. You might not beat your sister but at least you won’t embarrass her”

“Jee, thanks...Maybe I should bring her next time. You and she would get on really well” Sho was only half joking but he did want Nino to meet Mai and even Shun later on. His brother and sister were the only people in his family whose opinion mattered to him and he wanted them to like Nino and for Nino to like them so he was pleased when Nino gave a nod and said cheerfully;

“If you like, you’ve had to deal with my sister and mum so...Why not? Also I’d like to meet your sister and your brother...”

“Okay, maybe not the next date but some time after” Sho suggested, they were only on their second official date after all. Nino smiled and nodded again before sighing that nervous troubled look coming back over his face as he said softly;

“That’s if you still want to date me”

“Why wouldn’t I want to date you?”

“...I’m...I’m not a beta...I’m an Omega...” Nino whispered his head twisting around to make sure that nobody could hear them and Sho felt happiness bubble away inside of him. He hadn’t expected Nino to tell him the truth yet, even though he had been hoping for it, he had known that it was a huge thing for him to admit to. It did explain the way that Nino had been behaving today and he was somewhat relieved that Nino wasn’t planning on breaking up with him or something. “...You could say something...”

“Thank-you for telling me” Sho said swiftly before a huge smile formed over his lips “Seriously I know it must have been hard for you...”

“You’re not shocked?”

“No, to tell you the truth, I already knew...I’ve known for awhile, since before we even started talking...”

“That...That long? How...How...?” Nino stammered his voice almost on the verge of vanishing and Sho gave a small shrug his cheeks colouring brightly as he said;

“Even when I thought you were a beta I was interested in you...You are really cute...So, I found myself staring at you whenever I could and...” Nino’s cheeks flushed a bright red as his mouth dropped open and his eyes widened. It was an adorable expression and Sho had to fight the urge to hug him and press a kiss to the corner of his mouth. “It was an accident I found out. I was passing by one of the dance studios and you were in there alone practicing...At least I think you were, but it wasn’t a dance we’ve been taught. More of your own dance. You were so amazing, but you were also sweating really bad and your own scent was really strong...”

“...Why didn’t...Why didn’t you say anything? Tell anyone?”

“Because I figured you had your reasons for wanting to be in Johnny’s and if I told somebody then you would be kicked out, and I didn’t want that. But even if I didn’t know before I would have known after we started talking because...You are bad at not being an omega...At least...At least in front of me...”

“My omega likes to take over around you...” Nino grumbled a frown creasing between his eyebrows and Sho’s alpha preened clearly delighted with that. “With Jun, Toma, and even Masaki I don’t give away as much as I do with you...So...You...Still want to date me?”

“Don’t ask stupid questions” Sho growled finally giving in to his Alpha’s desire and wrapping him in a tight hug and Nino purred again his nose and mouth pressing into the fold of his neck.
