Nino was extremely nervous as he reached the station. His sister’s gift had been a slightly oversized mustard coloured t-shirt that was made of the softest material he had ever felt. It draped loosely over his body and Nino couldn’t deny that he loved it. It was so soft to the touch and he really liked the colour. Yuna’s words had bolstered him that morning but now he was nervous again and he hated feeling like that. The station was uncharacteristically busy for the time of day on a Sunday and it took him a long time to make his way through the crowds to their agreed meeting point but when he did he saw that the spot under the clock was empty and his heart sank like a stone into his stomach only to lift again when he saw Sho moving away from one of the vending machines with two cans of hot coffee in his hands.

“Sho!” Nino shouted happily running over to the elite Alpha and almost throwing himself into his arms. “I’m so happy to see you! I was scared that you weren’t going to come...I mean I haven’t seen you since that Wednesday...”

“Ah sorry, sorry, I knew that you would be worried but...I’m fine, my brother Shu, he got sick and didn’t like anyone else looking after him” Sho said softly with a little smile. “He’s getting better now. I’m sorry. I should have called...I thought about calling but then I remembered that I don’t have your home number...”

“I should give it you” Nino said quickly and Sho gave a nod and another smile his arms flexing just enough around him to make the omega remember he was still pressed against him. “Sorry...I...I just...I...”

“It’s okay, I understand. I missed you too...The train is going to take about fifteen minutes, but I got you a coffee...” Sho smiled handing him one of the cans as Nino took a reluctant step back from his Alpha. People around them barely glanced in their direction but whenever someone did Nino’s omega was screaming that it was too long and that they shouldn’t look at Sho like that. “How have you been? Any problems with the jerk?”

“No more than normal but he was buzzing with happiness and kept telling us that we were going to see a proper dancer at work...I guess that was his way of telling us that Ohno Satoshi was coming...” Nino shrugged not mentioning the way the old omega had kicked the back of his legs to make him fall yesterday. He had claimed that he was showing them how to deal with emergencies that might come up on stage but Nino noticed that he was the only one he targeted and he seemed to enjoy it when he fell to the floor and howled in pain. Jun’s reaction had been surprising, the alpha had hissed furiously at the old omega and then threatened to rip his eyes out. He was short and cute but he had a fierce temper when it came to his friends. “Um...If your brother is sick...Are you sure you shouldn’t be at home?”

“He’s over the worst of it, he’s just grousing and to be honest, I wanted to get away. My parents have been...Worse since Wednesday...I kinda got into an argument with my dad...” Sho admitted softly so nobody else would be able to hear, not that anyone was really listening to their conversation but Nino sensed that Sho wanted it to be kept private. Nino blinked slowly and then asked;

“Why?”

“My mum has always wanted me to get with an omega of her friend’s. I barely know the girl and from what I have seen of her she is as much interested in me as I am here...Which is not at all...But my parents think that when we get together everything will be happy and sunshine...” Sho’s face was a scowl now and he almost ripped the ring pull of his can off in irritation. “Or maybe they don’t but they don’t care. I told my dad as much and he hasn’t said more than two words to me since. My mum on the other hand hasn’t shut up. For the first time in my life I’m glad I’ve got so much school work that I can use as an excuse and get away from them...”

“Sounds really bad...” Nino breathed not really knowing what to say. He’d argued with his mum, it was normal but at the end of the day he knew that she only said those things because she cared about him and wanted what was best for him but she always listened to what he wanted. Sho’s parents never seemed to do that. Hell, he hadn’t even argued with his dad. Not just because he wasn’t really around much but because when he was around he did seem to genuinely care about him and Yuna. “I’m sorry...I suck...I mean, I really don’t understand parents like that...”

“Of course not, your mum is wonderful...” Sho told him swiftly and Nino found himself grinning with pride. He was a total mama’s boy, he always had been, so he was glad when people praised his mum. Friends at school did so often though it was a little disturbing to hear how they would date her if they could. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t be moaning...”

“No, it’s okay, I just wish I could make things better for you” Nino mumbled running his finger around the lip of his coffee can releasing as much of his omega scent as he dared trying to soothe the alpha. His Omega wanted to react the way it had on that Wednesday but Nino was keeping a tight control over his emotions not wanting to get that way again. Sho smiled brightly at his words and whispered softly;

“You do, just seeing you makes me feel better...Thanks for listening, Nino”

“You’re welcome but I wish I could do more...” Nino mumbled wishing he could have just five minutes with the Sakurai’s he would make them see how great Sho was, and what big pricks they were. His omega was angry now, like a lioness protecting what was theirs and he was surprised when Sho let out a happy laugh and pressed a very light kiss to his cheek before saying;

“You can. You can take me to the arcade and teach me how to play games! I want to be able to take my sister one day and surprise her with how good I am!”

“Your sister plays games?”

“Better than I do” Sho answered with a rueful smile. “She’s not your level but she doesn’t die after the first five minutes. She laughs at me most of the time...”

“We can’t have that, can we?” Nino chuckled as the train wooshed into the station and they made their way to the platform. He knew that he should have told Sho the truth but their would be time for that later. Now, now was just about cheering Sho up and somehow making sure that his sister would no longer be able to life at him. “I will do my best, Sho! But you really are almost a hopeless case...”

“I am prepared to work hard, sensei, I will be the best student you could hope for!” Sho chuckled as they settled themselves onto the train and Nino laughed happily as his arms came around him stopping anyone else getting close.

“You better! I am a strict teacher...”

“I can believe that...But a very cute one...”
