krystalkatzficz Two Weeks Earlier
Rhian skipped through the vampire compound her dolly swinging at her side. Her mummy was with her aunty and her daddy was looking after their puppy so she had been left by herself. She didn’t mind everybody was always nice to her and her daddy and puppy would play with her if she really wanted them to but puppy needed his rest. Grandpa was always making him talk and puppy always looked tired when he came back. Rhian was a big girl so she could play by herself with Dolly.
“Lady Rhian” A slimy voice called and Rhian’s little nose wrinkled with distaste as she looked up at Chinen. She didn’t like Chinen. He liked her daddy but always said nasty things about her mummy when he thought nobody could hear him. Rhian heard him though, she had learned all of the best hiding spots in the compound. She was small enough to fit in most places and she could spy on everyone! It was so fun! When she was queen and the werewolves and vampires were friends like Daddy and Puppy said they would then she could play hide and seek with the werewolf children! Like Puppy’s son! Puppy said that Masaki was older than her but she could be friends with him right? “What are you doing out by yourself?”

“I’m not by myself! I’m with Lady Dolly” Rhian announced holding up her doll sticking out her tongue when Chinen’s nose wrinkled in disgust.
“Don’t you think you’re too old to be playing with Dolls”
“Don’t you think you’re old enough to mind your own business?” Rhian shot back. It was something her mummy had said when her grandpa had asked the same question once. Chinen seemed to like it less than her grandpa though as he hissed his eyes flashing with anger that he couldn’t hide. Rhian wasn’t even sure he wanted to.
“You’re a little bitch. Just like your mother!” Chinen snapped his hand lifting above his head. Rhian knew that he was about to slap her but she didn’t have time to react. She closed her eyes and hid her face with her dolly but the slap never came. Instead a grunt escaped Chinen’s mouth and Rhian opened an eye to see the human her grandpa had brought standing over Chinen’s unconscious body looking almost like he was going to be sick. There was a large piece of wood in his hands and Rhian saw Chinen’s blood on the corner of it.
“Oh! He’s going to be mad!” She gasped softly apologising when the human whimpered his eyes filled with fear. “It’s okay! I won’t let him hurt you! Come with me! Quickly” She gasped grabbing the human’s hand and dragging him away from Chinen. Unfortunately she knew that the man would wake up eventually but she couldn’t resist stepping on his hand as she passed. The human trailed behind her slowly and Rhian thought about taking him to her daddy. Her daddy would look after him but he was already looking after puppy and Chinen was going to be really mad when he woke up. “I know a place you can hide! Thank-you for stopping Chinen! I hate him! He always picks on me and mummy! I’m Rhian by the way. Ohno Rhian! Nice to meet you! What’s your name?”
“I...I don’t have one...” The man answered softly sounding dazed and confused and Rhian looked back at him her eyes widening with surprise as he declared;
“Everybody has a name!”
“I don’t...I’m just...A slave...”
“...My daddy will stop that! And puppy! Daddy and Puppy are going to end the werewolf and Vampire war and they are going to look after the humans and free them from the farms!” She announced proudly remembering to whisper so nobody could hear them. The human didn’t look convinced but Rhian didn’t care. Her daddy would do it! He had promised her and he never broke a promise to her. The human would see that her Daddy would keep his promise. “In here! Quickly. It might be small but you are thin!” She said directing him to a little door that was under one of the buildings. It had been her first hiding place and she still liked it best. The corridor was small and the human had to squeeze his way in after her but eventually it widened into a small but open space. There was a pretty picture made of glass on one side. It had been dirty when she had first found it but she had cleaned it up. It only looked pretty when she put lights behind it but she didn’t like to light the candles she had cause her daddy told her not to play with them when she was alone. The rest of the space was filled with strange broken chairs and there was a statue of a woman in a flowing dress holding out her arms. Rhian thought it looked like her mummy. “This is mine and dolly’s house! You can stay here! Chinen won’t find you! There are blankets and things! When Chinen is calmed down I will fetch you!”
“...Thank-you...” The human whispered sighing as he almost sagged down into the heap of blankets. Rhian brushed his hair out of his face noticing that his skin was warm and there were bite marks over his body. She clicked her tongue angrily and went over to her store cupboard. Inside was water and medicines that her mummy had made. She told her that they would cure illnesses and had taught her how to use them. She brought them all over and then set aside. “What are you doing?”
“I’m going to treat your wounds! You have so many!” Rhian announced boldly before setting to work. It took her a long time but eventually all of the wounds had been treated and then she held up the bottle of water. “Here you go! Drink that! Then you need to drink my blood!”
“What?! No!”
“You need to! Or you won’t get better!” Rhian ordered putting her hands on her hips and glaring at the human until he had drank. She then held out a arm and the human stared at it for a moment before Rhian remembered that he didn’t the teeth to break through her skin. She brought her writs up to her own mouth and bit it slowly. It hurt but she knew that it would heal soon. She held her wrist back up to his mouth. The human stared at her for a moment but then poked his tongue out of his mouth and lapped at her blood. “You have to drink it...It properly...” The human scowled a little more and then closed his mouth around the wound and drank slowly. “Good boy! You need a name! I can’t keep calling you human...I know...Matsumoto Jun! He was a prince in the old days! There you have a name! Matsumoto Jun!”
