The War part 54

 “What happened in that room? With the king?” Satoshi asked as he led Nino to his apartment. It wasn’t much better than the apartment building he had just left but he knew that Nino would feel much more comfortably in his bed. At least now he wouldn’t be chained to it. Nino looked up at him with a little smug smile decorating his soft pink lips. The bruises were still visible but Satoshi was sure that they had faded. It made him happy, convinced that his little puppy was indeed recovering. More than anything right now he was curious as to what Nino had done to soothe the ruffled feathers of the king and make it possible that they could make a move with their plans. 

“I didn’t do anything much. My father and the king did. Do you remember last night? When I wanted to see your daughter?” Nino asked softly resting himself against Satoshi’s side. He moved away quickly when they saw another group of vampires walking towards him but that action alone told him that Nino was recovering. He gave a hum and a nod thinking about Nino’s actions last night. It had been running through his mind a lot all night, he had intended to ask his wife about taking their daughter out so Nino could see her but then the king had shown up. “I realised that we have a familial bond between us. I could never hurt your child because it’s yours. I wondered if I could have the same bond with the king...I am my father’s son after all...” 
 “It didn’t stop him from making a right mess of your face” Satoshi sighed pulling him into the shadows and gently running his fingers over his face. Nino smiled at him and then kissed his fingertips softly when they moved over his lips. 
 

“The bruises are part of the reason that the king change of mind” Nino sighed giving a little shrug looking completely unconcerned and Satoshi realised that he was just too happy to care about the outcome to worry about the whys and wherefores. “Once he had done it...He started to cry...Once he had finished crying he let out a breath and told me that he was tired, tired of everything. I quickly told him that that was what I was...That there had to be a way that we could sort it out. He mumbled something about my dad and I told him that there might be a way that they could figure it out” 
 

“So, he is planning on handing over power and then swanning off into the sunset?” Satoshi snorted pushing open the door to his apartment block. The inside was eerily quiet and Nino leaned closer to him his body sagging almost completely. “Nino?”
 

“Sorry, I was trying to act brave in front of everybody. I still feel tired and my head is splitting in two...” Nino admitted with a slurred giggle and Satoshi smiled picking him up gently and holding him up against his chest. Nino laughed even more and rubbed his face against him with his eyes closing. Satoshi smiled and then proceeded to carry his puppy up the stairs two at a time. By the time they had reached the apartment Nino was already asleep. The werewolf was a silent sleeper, Satoshi had been scared a few times when they had been laid together. 
 

“Papa!” Rhian cried running up to him with a huge smile on her face. Her arms were outstretched but they soon dropped when she saw the strange man in her father’s hands. “Who’s that?”
 

“This is my friend, Nino, he’s going to be staying with us for a few days. He really wanted to meet you but unfortunately he is very tired, but when he wakes up he will be happy to meet Rhian” Satoshi explained very gently not wanting to disturb Nino but realising that he had missed his daughter while he had been staying with Nino. He carried the sleeping werewolf into his bedroom, Tayhia and Rhian shared a room while he had the other but nobody had ever known that. He placed the boy onto the bed and covered him in a sheet before going back out to Rhian.

“How are you my angel?” 
 

“I’m okay, papa! Did I see grandpa earlier?” The girl asked wrapping her arms securely around his neck as Satoshi picked her up and carried her over to the window. From here it was pretty hard to see the main courtyard or the area that Nino had been kept in but Rhian was certain that she had seen the king and he wasn’t going to deny her the truth. 
 

“There is nothing wrong with your sight, is there angel?” He chuckled kissing her on the cheek before spinning her around. Rhian let out a laugh and then held up her hand in the way that she did when she wanted him to dance with her. 
 

“Dance with me, Papa!” She cried in a childishly demanding voice and Satoshi mocked bowed before taking her hand with a grin. 
 

“It would be my honour my dear lady” He said in a mock posh voice before lightly moving her around the room in a slow waltz. Rhian’s face turned serious and Satoshi began to sing one of the many songs he remembered from his past.“Gotta hold on easy, as I let you go...Going to tell you how much I love you, though you think you already know. I remember I thought you looked like an angel. Wrapped in pink, so soft and warm. You’ve had me wrapped around your finger, since the day you were born...”
 

“I love you daddy” Rhian announced as they continued to move around the room. A mixture of new scents reached them and he looked up to see Tayhia standing in the doorway. There was a smile on her face and her eyes were glittering with something that Satoshi knew was love. 
 

“You’re beautiful baby, from the outside in. Chase your dreams but always know the road that will lead you home again. Go on, take on this old world but to me. You know you’ll always be my little girl” Satoshi finished before coming to a stop and grinning at his wife. “Are you okay?”
 

“Yes, my father is looking for you, he said that he has much he wants to talk about” Tayhia hummed and Satoshi gave a nod and handed over Rhian. “Where is Nino?”
 

“He’s asleep, he was very strong in front of your father...” Satoshi knew that he sounded proud but he didn’t care. Even at half strength Nino had been able to stand toe to toe with the king of the vampires and managed to get him to change his mind. Their ideal future was so close he could almost taste it. 
 

“He was, father seems very impressed...For now...You should go see him...” 
 

“Okay. I will go right there, I will see you soon”

Hmmm If the King noticed Ohmiya's bond, I wonder if it'll do good.

Certainly seems they are heading in the right direction. Hopefully Chinen and Ninos father won't cause too much trouble for them. I still really want Ohno to beat Chinen up.....He hurt Nino.😁💙💛
