Nino clung to Satoshi as he stared at the other Niyans that had just arrived. They were all wearing a similar grey and white skin tight uniform. There was lettering on the front that he recognised as Niyanise. He couldn’t read it, although his handlers had tried to teach him but he had never mastered it, but he could see clearly that it was probably their names and rank. A short and almost bubbly looking woman with calico ears and tail had been bouncing from one foot to the other for the last five minutes and Nino knew from pictures he had seen that this was his mother. In human terms she didn’t look older than thirty but Nino knew that Niyan’s aged differently from humans.

“Ninomiya Kazunari” The tail male in front with ginger hair spoke finally and Nino felt his own ears twitch nervously as he looked at the man. “Your mission is over, we have come to take you home...”

“I...I...Want to stay...” Nino whispered pressing even closer to his master and rubbing his nose against his shoulder. Satoshi held him gently around his waist his face set into a determined scowl that reminded Nino of how the man looked when he was in Moau. It was what Nino called his sexy expression but at the moment sex was the furthest thing from his mind. “I’m sorry, but I don’t want to...I want to stay”

“We have travelled light years to fetch you” The leader of the group said but Nino looked at the bubbly woman surprised that she didn’t look upset or angry at his words. There was a gentle motherly expression on her face and Nino felt a pang of regret that he didn’t know her as well as he should, imagining that she must be a good mother.

“I know...And I’m sorry, but...But...I like it here, earth is my home...I have no connection to my home planet...I’m sorry” He whispered bowing his head politely but trying to remain firm in his choice. Finally his birth mother spoke, her voice was as soft and gentle as her face was and Nino sighed hearing it;

“Don’t apologise, Nino, of course you will prefer living here. I always said that it would be hard for you to understand...”

“I’m sorry, I wanted to be good and follow orders but...But I have my friends...My family here...Earth isn’t perfect but the people in it...” Nino’s voice trembled he had no idea what he was trying to say but Satoshi kept holding him tightly his fingers moving up and down his back slowly.

“Don’t cry, my son...Please...Come here” His mother cooed coming forward with her arms outstretched. Nino breathed deep as his face was met with her soft scent. It was the same smell that had clung to all his baby things. It was warm, soft, and loving and he breathed it in deeply. “We won’t force you to come if you don’t want, Nino, nobody will force you...”

“We have travelled light-years...Do you think high command will be happy...”

“My husband will be whatever I tell him to be!” His mother snarled, her voice a hiss, as her hand moved softly through Nino’s hair. The group of men flinched backwards and Nino took in a hissing breath looking at the woman who gave him a brilliant beautiful smile, her eyes flashing warmly “Your father was looking forward to meeting you however, and your brothers and sisters...”

“I’m sorry...” Nino whispered again but the woman shook her hair wiping away his tears with her thumb.

“No, don’t apologise for being honest. We brought you here as a babe and we knew there would be risks. I...I have missed you however, my first born, I only had three days with you and my heart has missed you ever since...May I make a request of you? Will you come with me? Not to stay for good but...But for a holiday? Spend a month with me and your family and then I will bring you home...I swear it...I will bring you back...” Nino looked into the eyes of the female Niyan and saw only honesty reflected there. Although he was worried that it was a trick he honestly believed that she would keep her promise and he looked over at Satoshi asking;

“Can Satoshi still come?”

“Of course, we would never seperate you...” She smiled at Satoshi who nodded back and Nino took a breath before nodding slowly before muttering;

“Okay...Then I would be happy to go with you but only for a month...”

“You have my word”

One Month Later

Nino clung to his birth mother tightly breathing in her warm, now familiar scent. The last month with her had been interesting. His home planet had been beautiful and it had been nice to walk freely without risk of somebody sticking him in a tank to be studied. His father had reminded him a lot of Jun, serious but fun when he had needed to be, and his brothers and sisters had been exhausting. Many of them had wanted to come and stay with him on earth and Nino had promised that they could when they were older.

Satoshi had been with him at every step on the strange world and although Nino knew that they were glad to be home he knew that Satoshi wouldn’t object to returning when he was able. More so when he had been told that it would be possible for them to have a child with both their DNA. Nino hadn’t been as interested in that but if that was what Satoshi wanted in a few years then he would give him that.

“Thank-you for coming with me...For giving me this month, Nino” Kazumi whispered softly, tears were streaming swiftly down her cheeks and Nino knew that his own eyes would be misty too.

“I will miss you...Mother” Nino whispered in response before kissing her cheek and stepping back towards Satoshi. Matching rings adorned both their hands as they had been able to marry on Nino’s home world and the stones were unlike anything found on earth. He was told that they were stronger than earth diamond and worth more. His father had given him them on their last day and it still felt strange around his finger.

“You are free to visit whenever you like. Just send word and I will come...” The woman said and Nino gave a nod. She and his father had said the same thing multiple times already but Nino knew that it would be many years before he saw them again. Space travel wasn’t an easy thing and it was costly.

“I know, thank you mother...” Nino mumbled again bowing his head before hearing the beep that informed them that it was time for her to go. Kazumi smiled kissing his cheek twice before doing the same to Satoshi and then she pressed a button on her uniform and vanished with a splash of stars. Nino stared at the empty space for several long minutes glad when Satoshi’s arm came to wrap around his shoulders tugging him into his body.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah...I was just thinking...We’ve been gone a month...What do you think...What do you think people have been saying?”

“I don’t know...But no matter what, I will be by your side, my little Niyan-Nino...”

A/N: Okay, cheesy end...I may or may not do a spin off of their holiday on Niyan-planet but for now this is the end >.< I hope it was okay ^_^
