Sunsets with you part 4

 “Well it was different” The chorographer coughed when Nino had finished his dance and Nino had to force himself to look at the woman. She was looking a little warm while the Manager-guy was looking a little shrewd. His eyes were narrowed behind his glasses and there was a little smirk playing around on his lips. Nino swallowed, not quite sure if the reaction was a favourable one or not, and looked over at his mum who was grinning like the cat from the Alice in Wonderland story. Her eyes were shining with pride and when she looked back at the mothers sitting on the benches he realised why she was suddenly okay with him doing this again. Some of the mothers looked a little...Disappointed and Nino guessed that they had been talking bad about him. “It’s a pass for me though, Umeda-san?”

“...Your moves were naive but there was something there we can work with...If you pass the next stage...” The man in the suit, Umeda nodded blinking slowly before pointing to three other boys. “You three stay and sit over there with Ninomiya, the rest of you can go home...” 
 

Kazuko gave him a double thumbs up and then winked settling herself back down on the bench looking a lot more smug when the disappointed looking mothers got up and walked off with their rejected children. Nino sat on the hard wooden floor breathing deeply through his nose to regulate his breathing and settle his heart rate. The boys that had been held back came and sat with him almost all looking a little embarrassed until one asked;
 

“How did you learn to dance like that?”
 

“My cousin, she’s a huge fan of Johnny’s and made me dance with her. She’s the one who sent in my application” Nino answered honestly his own cheeks flushing against his will as the boy that had asked the question slipped his arm over his shoulder. Of all the guys in the ones that had stayed he was the one with the most idol like looks. He was smaller than Nino at the moment but Nino could already tell that he was clearly a future alpha but he hadn’t presented yet, he still had a heavy scent. He wasn’t as good looking as the Keio boy but he was almost there. Nino slipped himself out of the boy’s grip and shifted away from him not caring for the way his scent made him feel and not wanting anyone to be too close in case they caught a glimpse of his own scent under Yuza’s. It was possible given how sweaty he was after his dance thankfully the alpha in training didn’t seem offended by him shifting away. 
 

“So, think we’re gonna get through?”
 

“Don’t know, don’t know what they meant about likability factor...” Nino shrugged looking over at the three adults who were busy talking amongst themselves. None of them seemed to be in any hurry to talk to them and Nino wondered if they had already made up their minds. Likability seemed to be such a strange thing to judge somebody on, how could anyone tell how likable you were? Or how people would respond to you? He supposed that they must know something about it because they ran Johnny’s and had some successful acts but it seemed to be strange to him. 
 

“Hmm, don’t know either...I’m Toma by the way, Ikuta Toma...” The boy said with a friendly grin that stretched out his sharp features. Nino found himself smiling back, it was impossible not to even though he was feeling a little overwhelmed. His eyes moved back to the group of adults who appeared to be shooting them glances every now and then causing Nino to feel as though he was waiting to be shot. His stomach twisted around like he was on a rollercoaster and he looked back at Toma trying to distract himself. 
 

“Ninomiya Kazunari, most people just call me Nino...Why did you apply?”
 

“Something to do, seems fun” Toma answered with a carefree shrug putting his hands behind his head and laying down on the floor so he could look up at the ceiling Nino felt the urge to copy him but he couldn’t understand why he was so at ease. Toma didn’t even look nervous and although he had failed the singing portion of the test he had grinned as though he wasn’t bothered about the out come. As a future alpha though he probably didn’t need to worry, he wasn’t going to be ushered to one side and called weak. As if Omega were weak. There were countless tales throughout history that told of the strength and bravery of omega. The leader of the most powerful clan of samurai had been a bloody omega but that hadn’t stopped him from taking down twenty men single handed. “So your cousin made you join?”
 

“And my mum...” Nino mumbled pushing away his anger at the injustice of being an omega and giving Toma another smile. “My mum thinks I was hanging around with the wrong people, she thinks Johnny’s would straighten me out...”
 

“Well, we’ll certainly try. Congratulations, you four have made it...To the probationary stage, mind you, if you don’t work hard then you won’t be going any further” Umeda told them with a smile and Nino jumped to his feet grinning in a sort of stunned way before running to his mum and gasping in a strangled way;
 

“I did it! I got accepted!” 
 

“I heard, congratulations Kazu” Kazuko hummed hugging him as she whispered in his ear “You can only stay until you present, Kazu, after that it will be impossible...”
 

“I know...I know...” Nino agreed readily. It would be impossible to keep his scent hidden after 16, he knew that but at the moment he wanted to enjoy the fact that he had succeeded. “I can’t wait to tell Yuza!” 
 

“Before you go telling anyone your mother will need to read through the contract, and you have to understand what this means. You’re only on a probation so you’re not to spread it around that you’re a member of Johnny’s” Nino opened his mouth to protest but Umeda smiled and nodded at him “You may tell family members only so long as they don’t spread it around, if there is even a hint of a scandal you’re out and honestly you’re too young to understand what the press will do...Just take it easy and treat this as an after school club, its hard work but it can be fun...Okay, you chat amongst yourselves while we talk to your parents...Congratulations, you all did incredibly well and you should be very pleased with yourselves”

I was thinking he was talking to Jun....To ma was short too back then. In fact, l believe Nino was the tallest of the four....except for maybe Aiba at the beginning. 😊
