Nino settled into a rather happy routine with Satoshi and Jareth over the next few weeks. Satoshi had gotten busier with preparing for the release of his new double A side single and drama that Jun had signed him on to meaning that they didn’t have much time for dinner together, but Nino made sure that the idol got as much time with Jareth as possible. The baby had gotten over his colic in the second week and there was only a few hungry feeds and a dirty bum at night now. His days were filled with Jareth and meetings with Mari, and sometimes Kimiko though he was sure that the Nanny from floor Six hated him.

Nino didn’t give a flying…Toffee what she thought about him, but it was making things difficult for Mari who was trying to smooth things over for them. Sometimes he escaped to Masaki’s office, just for a change and Masaki would take care of Jareth while he managed to get some sleep. Even though he hadn’t been able to spend a lot of time with Satoshi he was sure that they were getting closer. At the very least, Satoshi had stopped blushing when he spoke to him and Nino was sure that he had seen the idol checking him out more often when they were together. They would also sit together at night, if Satoshi came in early enough, and Nino was sure that the space between them grew smaller every day.

“Don’t be stupid Nino” Nino growled at himself shaking his head as he washed down the kitchen counter top glancing every so often at Jareth who was swinging around a rattling Mickey mouse. “He couldn’t be interested in you…” Finishing the counter top he threw his cloth down into the sink and then dried his hands on a towel before going over to Jareth. “Hey little man, shall we get you ready for the day? We’re going to see my mama at her restaurant…She’s going to love you…Yes, she is…You’re beautiful…”

He continued to babble to the baby as he carried him to the nursery. Satoshi was still working on it but already it was beyond something that Nino had ever seen. The walls were half painted with the garden scene from the Labyrinth. The doors of the wardrobe were the playing cards complete with partially done clay heads, legs and arms. It was stunning, and Nino really wished that the man could see how amazing he was. #

It was strange given how celebrated he was around Japan, but he was learning that Satoshi had a very low opinion of himself and believed that his interests…Clay figures, and fishing, were boring and nobody would be interested in them. Fishing wasn’t something that interested Nino, if he were honest, but the figures. The figures were amazing and so was the process behind them. Beyond that, he was amazing in other ways and Nino was positive that his heart swelled whenever he saw the idol with Jareth.

Satoshi had come a long way in the weeks he had been here, and he was growing easier with Jareth and would often sit and read to him at night when he could. Nino smiled now stripping Jareth out of his night time clothes. The baby babbled gently his lips curling into something like a smile whenever Nino did something amusing. Eventually he was dressed in a pair of baby jeans and a t-shirt with a bib around his neck to catch the drool. “There we are! Don’t you look handsome? Come on then! Masaki will be waiting with the car!”

Nino was settling the baby into his car seat when the door to the apartment opened and Satoshi came in. He looked tired but was smiling until he saw that they looked like they were going out.

“Um…I’m home…Are you going out?” Satoshi asked shrugging out of his coat and Nino gave a nod biting on his lip slowly somehow feeling guilty to be going out.

“We were going to see my mother…Um…Would you like to come?” Nino asked impulsively. He wasn’t sure why he asked or if it was possible for Satoshi to come but he knew his mother would be discreet and it was the middle of the day, so the restaurant wouldn’t be busy. But it would be hard for Satoshi he knew that, so he was surprised when the man smiled again and nodded slowly.

“Yes, please…If you don’t mind…If you…”

“I don’t mind, Satoshi, not at all…” Nino smiled reassuringly, and Satoshi picked his coat back up and put it on. His working relationship with Satoshi was strange. Although he was entitled to two days off he hadn’t had any and didn’t want any. It was more like they were a couple but one that didn’t have sex. “Come on then…Um…Do you need a disguise? Hat? Or some glasses…”

“I should be fine. Nobody normally bothers me…And…Um…It’s not like you’re a girl…So, I think that it will be fine…” Satoshi mumbled with a shrug and Nino nodded deciding that that made sense. He picked Jareth up and grabbed the baby bag from the side. As he was going to be meeting his mother he wasn’t wearing his overalls and for some reason it felt more like a date. Satoshi held the door for him and lightly rested his hand on the small of his back as they waited for the elevator and Nino was positive his heart was dancing inside his chest. “How has your day been so far?”

“Okay…Haven’t done anything much…Yours? I wasn’t expecting you back until much later”

“Yeah, I wasn’t expecting to be back, but Jun said that I should be allowed to spend time with Jareth since I’ve been working so hard” Satoshi answered as the elevator opened and they stepped inside. “He’s not a complete monster even if it feels like it sometimes…”

“But he just wants you to be the best you can. He believes in you”

“I know, but…Sometimes…I wish I could retire…” The elevator stopped on floor six and Nino moved aside preparing to make room for Kimiko. The nanny came in and scowled at him for a moment before seeing that Satoshi was also in the elevator. She smiled slowly at the idol her eyelashes fluttering but Satoshi didn’t seem to notice, in fact he barely looked at her, staring instead at the floor and Nino smiled until Kimiko turned to glare at him, her foot tapping against the floor until the elevator opened on the ground floor and they all stepped out. Kimiko stalked off with a huff and Satoshi sighed “She gets worse…”

“Maybe…But come on…Let’s go…”

She gets worse? So Satoshi has dealt with her before? Guess she's jealous Nino got the job she wanted? She wanted to get close to Ohno huh? If she does stir up trouble I hope Nino does not get blamed. Course, a spurned young woman might find a lot to use against two guys with a baby living together huh?😉💙💛
