It’s not my fault you’re blood deprived…” The nurse, an older vampire wearing thick rimmed glasses and her hair in tight curls growled her eyes a dull grey telling him that she was a member of the Pratchett and Doyle families. “What did you think you were playing at…”
“I didn’t realise how bad I was…” Jun muttered for the umpteenth time since arriving at the nurses’ station. Being told off by Satoshi was bad enough but then he’d had to deal with Sho and now this nurse. It was as though everyone now thought that he was as brainless as his brother and the worst part was he couldn’t argue with them. He wasn’t a child. He knew the dangers of not drinking but he hadn’t wanted anybody else’s blood but Nino’s. The blood he had just drank had been bitter and almost sickly as he had drunk it, but the red mist that had been surrounding him since he had woken up was clearing now and he was ashamed of the way he had behaved. Nino had been afraid and if Satoshi hadn’t had been there it could have gotten a lot worse. The nurse fixed him with her stare before she sighed.
“You’re not a child. You know that you have to take blood, Matsumoto-kun” She told him once again in a softer tone this time. It was a similar thing to what Sho had said only his words had been accompanied by a disappointed expression which had been more difficult to swallow. He knew how important this was to everyone and he agreed that they had to move forward with the humans, more now that he had met Nino than he had ever done before but he couldn’t help the fact that all he desired was Nino’s blood. “This school is important to us all…”
“I know and I’m sorry, I won’t allow myself to get that bad again…” Jun assured the nurse who nodded doubt still clear in her eyes but her face relaxed and she absently began smoothing out the bed sheets around him.
“I should hope not. Is there a reason that you tried to starve yourself?” Jun flinched at the words. He hadn’t been trying to starve himself he had just been distracted by the smell that Nino gave off and his imagination about how he would taste and if it would be as good as the smell. He was sure that if he were human he would be flushing as he looked down at his feet kicking them out from the bed as he admitted;
“…I wanted…I wanted specific blood…”
“Oh?”
“Nino…Ninomiya Kazunari…” Jun watched the nurse give a slow nod her hand moving through her hair gently disturbing the mass of curls around her face and eyes. She looked more sympathetic now and her mouth curved into a smile.
“I see, the boy that you and the Heir Ohno have imprinted on…”
“Imprinted?”
“It is a rather old-fashioned term now I suppose, but it still means the same as it ever did…He smells nice to you, doesn’t he?” She asked, and Jun gave a nod his eyes closing as he could instantly smell Nino’s scent as though he was sat there with them in the room. It was like all his favourite things rolled into one amazing package. His body hummed with it as he admitted;
“Like nobody has ever smelt before…”
“That’s an imprinting. I’ve only ever heard stories of it. I am not one of the main families and it is a very private thing…” Jun wanted to argue that he wasn’t one of the main families either, he was only secondary after all, but a lot of people tended to forget that, and it was because the Matsumoto’s made their way in the world and made sure that they were known. “If you want more information the best person to speak to would be Lord Sakurai…”
“Sho-sensei? It doesn’t seem like something he would be interested in…” Jun scoffed before remembering Masaki, Nino’s friend, it was clear that Sho had an interest in that human so much so that he had taken on the extra burden of being head teacher at the school just so that he could make Masaki attend. He knew that Nino didn’t like it, but Jun honestly couldn’t think of anything better for the human. Sho was the nicest of all the lords and one of the most respected. If Masaki became his lover, then the world would be his oyster. Of course, they could never marry, Sho was a lord after all and with it came duties such as producing an heir to the line, but a lover would give him status that many vampires could only dream about. “I see, I think that I will need to speak to him then…”
“You should…It will do you some good. Ninomiya-kun hasn’t yet been made to give a donation would you like me to call him in?”
“…No…” Jun shook his head. It was tempting to have Nino’s blood to be able to drink when he needed it, but he couldn’t deny that the idea of everyone being able to drink it was enough to fog his mind up with the red haze again. Only he and Satoshi should be allowed to drink the nectar that was Nino’s blood. Besides, he wanted to be able to drink from Nino straight from the source. So, to speak. That wasn’t something he was going to admit to the nurse, though he was sure she already knew, it was personal after all. “Nino isn’t sure of himself around here yet…Asking him to donate might…Be the straw that broke the camels back…”
“I see, well from now on, I want you to come here every other day the same as Heir Ohno…”
“Heir Ohno has come for blood?” Jun was surprised but he supposed he shouldn’t be. Satoshi was the perfect heir, even if he only wanted Nino’s blood he would force himself to drink other blood, so he didn’t do anything to scare Nino. Not like he had done. He still had a long way to go to catch up with the future lord Ohno it seemed.
“Yes…He’s not an idiot like some I could mention…Now go, you seem to have recovered I’m sure you don’t wish to spend your day with me…”
“As pleasant as your company has been, you’re right…” Jun smiled before remembering that his mother would be here soon and maybe it would be better if he could stay in the nurses’ station for as long as possible.
“Then go and remember if you don’t come to me, I will come to you and I will do so in the most embarrassing way possible…”
“Thank-you…”
