Just the Beginning

Ohno Satoshi looked at the man that had just taken his name. The man was talking to his friends, who had become his friends over the time they had been dating, laughing gently as he looked at the ring on his finger. It was a simple gold band, all he could afford, but his husband looked at it as though it was the most precious thing he could ever hope to own. Satoshi knew that he would never be a rich man and he had never dared to believe that somebody could want to be with him, much less somebody like Ninomiya ‘Nino’ Kazunari. Nino was bright vivacious and quite possibly the most handsome man that he could ever hope to see.
Nino had been a part of a tour group from the local university who had requested the use of his boat for a few days to make a study of the sea life. Nino had been as sick as a dog but that hadn’t stopped Satoshi from being completely captivated by him from that very first day never daring to believe that he would agree to date him. Of course, he hadn’t been expecting that Nino would be the one to ask him. But he had as bold as brass, a few days after their first meeting, it had been a magical somewhat nerve wrecking moment, but he had agreed readily.
There had been more panic when the night of the promised date had come, the normal doubts of how he could compare to somebody as obviously wealthy as Nino, but he hadn’t been able to resist the date and when it had ended with the most breath-taking kiss he’d ever had in his life he was glad he had ignored the fear.
There next couple of dates had only gotten better and the night he had first taken the man under the stars on the board his boat was one he would never forget. The feeling of his walls caressing him as he moved in and out and his name being whispered from his lips was incredible. He wasn’t ashamed to admit that he cried. He had imagined that Nino would laugh at him, but he had held him tightly and pressed kisses to his cheek as his fingers ran through his hair.
They’d had difficult times as well, both were possessive in nature and were easily drawn into bouts of jealousy, but their fights always ended quickly and their making up made the pain at the words worth it. Nino had moved himself into his home without either of them talking about it, he had said that it was cheaper for him to live there and Satoshi had liked the idea of waking up to his lover every morning and falling to sleep with him every night, so he hadn’t complained.
Their time together hadn’t increased all that much until Nino had graduated college in the spring of that year. That was when they’d had the biggest argument of their relationship. Satoshi had believed that Nino was wasting his life with him while Nino thought that there was no life without him. Both believed that they were the ones in the right. Nino had ended up walking out for three days and Satoshi had been left feeling as though he had lost the best thing he had ever had.
When Nino had come back three days later he had been flushed with success announcing that he had gotten a job in the village as assistant manager at the local grocery store. It probably wasn’t the job that Satoshi would have wanted him to have but it wasn’t a waste of his life and the three days of not having him meant that Satoshi knew what he would be giving up if he lost him. He had asked him to marry him that day. Nino had agreed readily, and they had made love in the same place as that first night under the stars.
“Satoshi, are you going to spend the night staring at me? Or am I allowed to dance with my love…Husband. I'm your husband now, ne?” Nino said pulling him out of his thoughts. Satoshi turned to look at the beautiful man at his side, his heart skipping against his ribs. His hand slipped around the small but chunky one of Nino’s their fingers linking over the ring.
“You most certainly are, I love you my beautiful, Nino” He breathed capturing the boy by the chin and tilting his face upwards, so he could press his lips to Nino’s. Their kiss was loving over passionate, their tongues moved and danced together. It was sweet and dazzling and he wrapped his arm around him pulling him flush against his body. Their lips broke apart and they gazed at each other for a few minutes basking in the love that they saw in each other’s eyes and then they pressed their foreheads together laughing for just a few moments knowing that it was just the beginning of a long life together.
THE END
