krystalkatzficz“You’re not even the size of a pea and you’re already causing me as much trouble as your papa” He whispered feeling foolish about talking to his own body, but he tried to imagine that there was a person inside of him and not just something that was making him throw up. He rubbed his belly a few more times and then decided that it was safe enough for him to try and get out of the bedroom. His legs felt like jelly as he moved but he managed to make it to the door without collapsing and he grinned happily for a few moments before hearing both Satoshi and Sho in the living area.
“What do you mean by that?”
“Exactly what I said, I don’t know what’s happening. Kazunari is having my child…” Satoshi mumbled in response to his friend and Nino felt himself clench with surprise hurt. Satoshi had been so nice the day before that he had forgotten that he was nothing but a walking incubator.
“But it’s more than that, right? You like Ninomiya-kun…” Nino’s breath caught in his throat and he inched closer to the door waiting for the answer. In his head he knew that Satoshi would just mutter something about his heir, so he was surprised when Satoshi let out a long drawn out sigh and muttered so softly Nino had to strain to hear;
“…You’re asking a lot, why does it concern you?”
“What do you mean, why does it concern me? I’m your friend, almost like your bloody brother, so of course it concerns me” Sho’s tone was much softer than it had been in the office and Nino realised the true depths of feeling that the man had in him for his friend. Nino knew that they were close but now he wondered just how close they might have been in the past. Something very close to jealousy niggled at his heart but he pushed it away as quickly as he could. “I know how hard it’s been for you. But if you truly like him…”
“I feel…I feel things for him that I have never felt for another person…But…But that isn’t to say…That…I mean…” Nino was positive that his head spun at the words that came out of Satoshi’s mouth. He gripped the door handle tightly flushing a little at the strange flips his heart was making now.
“You’re flushed, Satoshi, okay, I will leave it alone, but you don’t like to make things easy for yourself” Sho mumbled and this time Satoshi let out a bark of laughter.
“Pot meet kettle”
“What do you mean?” Sho asked and Nino wondered if he should stop the conversation here or not. He supposed that he shouldn’t it would be obvious that he had been listening to the conversation.
“Aiba Masaki. You came here because he called, at 6:30 in the morning” Ohno hummed and like a slap to the face Nino remembered that he hadn’t called his friend last night. His phone had died while they were at dinner and even though Ohno had told him he could use the landline he hadn’t been able to remember his friends phone number.
“He was hysterical plus I brought Ninomiya-kun’s pills, I thought that they would be needed…”
“You came all this way because of your personal assistant…” Ohno let out a dry laugh that sounded sharper than the chuckle Nino had come to know and like “Sho, my friend, before you lecture me any further about my personal life perhaps you should take a long hard look at your own. What you’re doing now isn’t any healthier than what I’m doing”
“We both know how badly getting involved with staff can be or have you forgotten…”
“You think Aiba is like him? Not a chance” Satoshi spat and Nino felt his curiosity fly at the harsh accent on the word him and the outright venom in Satoshi’s voice as he said it. He hated that he hadn’t moved from the door but he couldn’t stop himself from listening. Satoshi’s support of Masaki was doing wonders in making him see him in a different light and he hoped that Masaki may get his happily-ever-after after all. “The man already acts as if he’s married to you and so do you, don’t think I don’t know you didn’t need to take your pa with you to Thailand? You might as well make it official and stop torturing Aiba-kun, he deserves better than that and so do you…”
“Satoshi…I think that is the most I’ve heard you speak in a long while, my friend, perhaps Ninomiya is good for you after all. Okay, I will win him at the charity auction and see what happens from there…” Sho’s tone suggested that it was difficult for him say but Nino felt his grin stretch into a smile deciding that he wouldn’t say anything to Masaki. “What about you? What are you going to do about Ninomiya? You are aware that he is in the charity auction correct?”
“I was made aware of it. You know I never attend the Christmas party”
“I know, but surely you can make an exception this time. She wouldn’t mind you know, she more than anyone would have told you to go and enjoy yourself, she would have been the centre of it all…”
“She did love Christmas…I think that maybe you’re right, one day couldn’t hurt. I should wake Kazunari and give him his medication” Nino almost squealed when Satoshi turned and started heading to the door he was hidden behind and quickly he headed back to the bed hoping his feet wouldn’t make too much noise on the floor. “Do you have it? I’m sure he’d be happy not to throw up again…”
“Yes, it’s in my pocket, I should tell Masaki-kun that his friend is okay, he really was distressed earlier” Sho hummed his voice muffled by the sound of the door and Nino slipped back into the bed and rolled onto his side with the quilt pulled up around his ears. His heart was racing faster than it ever had done before and he tried to calm his breathing as the door opened.
“Kazunari…Kazunari, you should be waking up now” Satoshi called briskly but softly as he came to the bed and ran a hand down his back. Nino fought the urge to shiver at the touch and managed to let out a groggy groan pretending to be pulled from sleep. “Come on, I have your pills, you’ll be feeling better soon and then we can go for a walk around the lake…”
