krystalkatzficzHe was good looking. Young with a fine body and soft bleached hair that had been coloured and cut to perfection. He was wearing contacts that gave him green eyes instead of brown and his skin held a touch of tan, not the healthy glow which came from time spent in the sun like Ohno’s but the fake kind that came from lotions or machines. His teeth were unnaturally straight and white filling his mouth like a line of polished marbles and his skin was shiny from lotions. Nino had hated him from the moment he had stepped into the office and the first words out of his mouth were ‘A nicer bum on this one’ He knew that he was a valued client of Yama heights and he was trying his best to be a better employee during his time left with Ohno but if he didn’t quit making comments Nino was going to punch him hard in the face and send him flying through the window without bothering to open it.
“I am dying to know where you get such good-looking PA’s Sakurai-san, Ohno-san…The ones that work for me are complete dogs. Perhaps I should sway one away from you, you don’t need two surely and something pretty does wonders for the office.”
“Then I suggest you buy a painting” Ohno’s voice was sharp and cold and Nino was glad that for the first time since he had worked here it was not directed at him. His pen had stalled on the paper now the conversation had strayed away from work talk. His head turned to look at his boss and he saw that Ohno’s eyes were filled with fire and his mouth was a straight line. If there was one good thing that Nino could say about his demon boss was that he took office safety and sexual harassment seriously. All claims of improper behaviour were investigated thoroughly and the sentences swift for those caught. It made it one of the nicer companies to work for, or at least it would have done if Ohno hadn’t been such a prick.
“Oh, I see, this one where you stick your dick, Ohno-san? Can’t say I blame you, the other one is prettier but this one has a nicer arse” The man laughed either not noticing or not caring about the look Ohno was giving him. Nino supposed he was too self-assured that Yama heights needed him and his business to be truly afraid of what they would do. Nino knew that it was partly true, the man was a very influential client, but Nino would never be so flippant towards Ohno. “Hey, you don’t have to be so defensive, if I had a PA even half as good looking I’d be banging them too, hell I’d settle for one with a nice bum”
“I think that our business is done today” Ohno hummed his voice low and as sharp as a blade. It was a tone Nino knew well from having it directed at him so man
“Um…Yeah…Okay…” Nino felt almost disappointed that he wouldn’t witness the aftermath and quickly got up from his chair and fled the office stopping to bow only once at the door before leaving the men alone. Knowing that it would do no good to linger by the door and hope to hear something he headed back to his station and found Masaki chatting quite happily with a delivery man.
“Hey, Nino, is the meeting over?” Masaki asked still smiling as he collected the packages and set them on the desk waving away the delivery man. Nino scowled at him throwing down his notebook and pen before sinking into his own chair with a furious sigh. He hoped that Ohno was tearing the slimy little bastard a new one, but he wished he could have been witness to it.
“Yeah, I suspect now though it’s not Sho you have the problem with…”
“Ketomi-san?”
“Yeah, urgh that guy is a worse jerk than Ohno ever was! At least Ohno-san never told me that my bum was nice or that I was just a pretty face…”
“Because he probably knew he would get his keyboard over his head. You could never be just a pretty face Nino, you are too smart for that. Look at the way you’ve handled Matsumoto transition”
“I can’t claim any credit for that, Masaki, I just follow Ohno’s orders”
“Liar, I know for a fact that you handled a lot of the paperwork on your own. You were always too smart to be a PA” Masaki grinned and Nino rolled his eyes wondering why his friend and fellow PA seemed to be falling into the trap that they were just note takers and tea makers.
“Believe it or not I liked being a PA. At least I did before I came here. Not that I don’t enjoy the company but Ohno-san…Urgh…My fucking stomach is doing twists again…” He groused rubbing his stomach with the flat of his hand in circles wondering if it would be okay to take some more of his tablets. He didn’t know how long the meeting had been or remember when he took the last lot. “I should be okay for some more now, right?”
“Yeah, I think so. Do you want a drink?” Masaki asked getting up and heading over to the drink centre. Nino was about to nod when the door to Sho’s office opened and Ketomi scurried out. His face was pale even under his fake tan and he barely looked at them as he passed. Nino watched with amusement as he almost tripped over himself to get to the elevator and then almost jumped out of his skin when he heard the barked order of;
“Ninomiya, my office now…”
“I…Yeah…”
“Five minutes…” Masaki called back pushing Nino back into his chair as he tried to stand. “Nino needs his pills”
“Very well, ten minutes”
