Nino stepped slowly into the meeting room of the Crystal Lounge his heart thumping in the back of his throat as his skin prickled with nerves. Masaki had been understandably put out about having to act as assistant for Ohno again but by the time he had been getting ready to head to the hotel he had agreed that it was for the best that he work out his notice away from their Demon boss.

The Crystal lounge was every bit as dramatic as one might expect from the name. The floors were polished marble and the walls appeared to be made of the hotels namesake reflecting mirror images and shining tiny rainbows around the entrance hall. Nino had felt like a fraud walking through the front door but somehow, he had managed to hold his head high and walk purposely to the reception desk. The woman had barely looked at him before informing him that the Matsumoto party had already arrived and were waiting for him in the blue meeting room. Nino had thanked her politely and gone in the direction she had gestured positive that he saw about three movie stars on his way there.

The meeting room was no less luxurious with gold and blue silk chairs and a large antique oval table which held six men dressed impeccably in black suits. Only two of them he recognised and he felt his throat dry up and almost close around him until the familiar sound of somebody clearing their throat sounded behind him. Turning his eyes bulged as he saw Ohno standing behind him with a cross and impatient look on his face. Finding ever more impossible to move forwards with Ohno looming over him he stubbled as a hand shoved him from behind.

“Get moving, Ninomiya” Ohno growled and Nino almost tripped over his own feet in his haste to do just that. The tall young man at the table he recognised looked up at his little surprised shout and Nino flushed for a moment trying to regain his bearings as Matsumoto Jun’s face split into a huge, cheerful smile as he almost shouted;

“Is that my Brat?!”

“J…Matsumoto-san” Nino breathed dipping his head slowly aware of the icy eyes of his boss fixed on the back of his head. He was almost certain that Ohno was trying to bore a hole straight through him but he was more concerned about the way Jun sprang up from the table and came hurrying over to him looking almost perfect in a fitted suit which had mistaken for black earlier but now realised that it was a very dark blue. He looked good, better than good in fact, with his high cheek bones and slightly crooked lips. His eyes were sharp and almost cat like but instead being harsh they were radiated warmth. There had been a point when Nino had been both taller and broader than the man in front of him, but those days were long gone now. Jun stood a head taller than him and there were the tell-tell signs of muscles under the shirt he was wearing. Jun chuckled coming to hold him by his shoulders and fixing him with a long stare his eyes lingering just a little on the concealed love bites on his neck.

“Matsumoto-san? When did you become so formal, my brat?”

“When I was assigned to work for you and your father” Nino whispered nervously looking up at Satoshi anything else he might have said dying on his lips when Jun easily picked him up and crushed him to his chest his arms tight around his back. Jun had a reputation almost as scary as Satoshi’s in the field they were in, but Nino had known him as an awkward child and they had been very good friends.

“It’s so good to see you, brat! But don’t call me, Matsumoto-san again…”

“It’s good to see you too, Jay-Jay. Have you grown again? How is that possible? You’re the same age as me!” Nino gasped only half joking. Jun had been adorably cute when they were younger often following him around like a shadow whenever they were together. Of course, they were of different backgrounds and they both knew that it was only chance that had brought them together but they ad been friends for a while.

“Not all of us can be cute midgets, like you, brat, you’re as adorable as ever” Jun chuckled his hand coming to ruffle his hair causing Nino flush just a fraction waving his hand away as though he was swotting at a fly.

“And you’re still a flirt”

“Only with you…” Jun shot back his eyes playful but serious and Nino rolled his own suddenly feeling uncomfortable when he saw his current boss standing just behind Jun looking as though he wanted to say something deeply unpleasant but was holding himself back, just barely. Nino knew what kind of thoughts would be going around in Ohno’s mind and he immediately he thought about the money that had been offered for their night together. He felt sick and could barely bring himself to smile as Jun said; “It’s really good to see you”

“And you. It’s been too long” Nino smiled wishing that he hadn’t left the company when he had but his head had been such a mess back then that it had felt right to change and move to another company.

“You remember my father, don’t you?” Jun asked moving him passed the still glaring Ohno to the table and Nino rolled his eyes wondering why Jun was acting as though it had been years and not a few months.

“It hasn’t been that long, of course I remember Matsumoto…”

“Ah, I’m disappointed that you are becoming so formal, Nino-chan, you were so cute when you called me Uncle” Junichi smiled the action causing the corners of his eyes to wrinkle. Nino gave a shy and awkward smile bobbing his head before saying;

“Sorry, Uncle Junichi. It’s good to see you again”

“You’re looking even more like your mother” Junichi tol him and Nino felt his face stiffen with his smile. He still hadn’t gotten over the sudden death of his mother. She’d had stomach ache one weekend which had quickly progressed to full blown stomach cancer within only a few weeks. It had been devastating for him and for the man in front of him. It ha been easier to leave than to deal with it all “I’m sorry, you know that I liked her a lot, a very special lady”

“Thank-you” Nino smiled again and then looked around at Ohno who was giving his most sour expression his arms folded across his chest and his foot almost tapping on the floor. “Shall…Shall we start?”

Oh Jun and his father are adorable and overly cute with nino. I really like it :)
