Ohno’s fingers didn’t stop after his pronouncement, in fact they didn’t even stall and Nino had to wonder if his lord had heard him or realised what he had said. Time seemed to float away and Nino’s heart thumped painfully against his ribs.
“My lord…” Nino whispered and flinched when Ohno bit at his shoulder hard and then sucked on the bite his tongue running over the teeth marks.
“I told you call me Satoshi…”
“Satoshi…Did you hear what I said…?” Nino asked nervously and he tensed when he heard his lord give a sigh his chipped fingernails digging into his skin.
“I heard, Kazunari, and I am grateful for your words but I am not the best choice for you or your feelings, even if they are not unwelcome…” Ohno told him and Nino forced himself not to cry when he felt his heart ache painfully inside his chest as it shattered into a thousand pieces knowing that he was receiving a rejection of his feelings.
“Why? Why are you not the person for my feelings…? I cannot help the person that I love, my lord…And I love you…” He said thankful that his voice was calm and steady with no hint of the tears that wanted to fall. Ohno hand went to his side, as he shifted from the back of his legs, to help him into a seated position so they were facing each other.
“Kazunari, one day I will marry…It may not be what I truly desire but I need to marry as I will need to produce an heir… I have to continue my family line...That is my duty…My father may not have had much noble traits that I would have liked to pass on to the next generation I still have to continue my family name…” Ohno told him gently, his voice softer than Nino had ever heard it before as he linked their fingers the oil making the task difficult but not impossible.
“I understand that my lord…” Nino whispered refusing to give into the pain that was stabbing at his heart. He loved his lord, he would do anything that he could for him but he could not do that, he could not give him a child. He had always known that one day Ohno would take a wife. It was the way that it was done in most noble circles, his lord would have a wife but he could still stay as his mistress.
“Do you really? My little Kazunari…How would you feel laying here with your feelings of love while I am in the next room producing the next line with my wife…?” Ohno asked and Nino’s heart broke at the thought of anybody else with his lord. He had been trained to accept that he would never be first in the eyes of his lord but Ohno had made him feel like he was and he knew that it would slowly kill him to know that Ohno was in his bedroom with somebody else. He knew that but he still managed to force out
“I would not like it my lord but I would understand...”
“Would you? I would not…And I cannot imagine any young bride enjoying that…The knowledge for her that in the next room there was the person that I really wished to lay with…” Ohno sighed and Nino had to admit that he was completely bewildered by what his lord was saying.
“My lord I do not understand what you are saying…”
“I am saying that I cannot love you…Not in the way that you wish me too because if I did I could not do the duty that I have to…And I would not send you away because you are mine…In the end I will hurt you and any love that you have for me will sour and you will hate me…”
“Never… I would never hate you…” Nino said and Ohno let out a bitter chuckle pain in his eyes
“How I wish that I could tell you the words that you want to hear Kazunari, but I cannot… There may never be a time when I can…I know the bitterness that can eat at a man’s heart…” He said and Nino tried to understand why, why he couldn’t just say those three words. He stared into Ohno’s face and for the first time since he had met him he realised that Ohno was looking at him with real emotions reflected in his eyes. His face wasn’t schooled into the calm blank expression and there was no mist in his eyes just raw emotion and that was when it hit him. Ohno was trying to protect himself; he was frightened of love… Or more accurately, of losing Nino’s love and becoming like his father had been. As soon as Nino recognised this his heart ached for his lord and quickly he brushed his lips over Ohno’s.
“Satoshi…I cannot force you to believe me…But somehow I will prove it to you...You are nothing like your father...” He said and he wondered if perhaps he had gone too far when Ohno stiffened and hissed.
“You have already given me more than I could possibly deserve, Kazunari…Do not give me this as well…”
“Too late, my love…” Nino smiled his lips moving to the scar on his cheek before trailing down to kiss his neck scar his hands brushing over his skin. “Let me worship you…”
“Your muscles…”
“Are quite recovered, Satoshi…You are more skilled with your hands than you believe…” Nino whispered kissing the burn mark on his chest and realising that his lord had gotten it trying to save his mother and that his mother had rescued his lord. “Our lives have always been so closely linked, my love…Do you realise that I was the baby that you felt in my mother’s womb…? Perhaps that was when our bond formed my lord…”
“Foolish romantic nonsense…” Ohno grumbled but his voice was cut off when Nino’s mouth found his stomach and he kissed a few of the fainter scars that were there.
“Maybe…But…You cannot deny that it is a strange thing, my love…That your earliest happy memory is of me, reaching out to you…” Nino moaned his mouth hovering over the thin scrap of fabric that covered his penis and Ohno gave a growl
“Impertinent brat…You have grown more in confidence since that night in the inn…” he spat and Nino chuckled to himself kissing the hardening penis through the soft fabric and tasting the first drops of pre-ejaculate that had soaked the front. He brought his hands up to the edge of the covering and flicked his eyes up to look into Ohno’s as he tugged the fabric away and whispered
