“That’s because I haven’t been around in a while” Nino said turning to look at the man half the club wished was talking to them. Aiba Masaki. They had been somewhat friends in his clubbing days back when Masaki had been in his first days as an employee of the Red Sakura strip club. The man seemed to have gotten better looking in the last year. His body, wrapped in a tight t-shirt with a sad cat on the front, and a pair of leather trousers with a silver studded belt, was certainly a lot tauter and Nino couldn’t resist the urge to stoke the muscles as he hummed happily “Hey, Ki. Looking good”
“…You look like shit” Masaki said and Nino blinked slowly. With the sheer amount of people that had been coming onto him he had thought that he looked good. He gave a tense grin brushing his hair with his fingers before grabbing the fruity drink from the bar muttering;
“Cheers for that”
“I don’t mean it that way” Masaki laughed flicking his nose with his fingertip “You look good but…You look tired…Gaunt…Married life not treating you the way you wanted?”
“Just tired I guess” Nino sighed rolling his shoulders in a shrug. It had been nice being able to pretend for a while that Satoshi wasn’t at home. He would say waiting for him he knew that his husband would have eaten his dinner bathed and then headed to bed as though he wasn’t even there.
“I see, so that’s why you’ve been pressing yourself up against everyone that offers?” Masaki’s tone wasn’t hard or judgemental but it felt as though he was being and Nino felt his shoulders stiffen as his eyes narrowed.
“You were watching me, for how long?”
“Since I arrived an hour ago, you looked like you did before you got married and I see you’re not wearing a ring anymore. What happened?” Masaki asked motioning for the bartender to get him a drink and Nino sighed regretting being happy that he had seen his sort of friend. He and Masaki hadn’t been bosom buddies, not really, he had just been somebody that he would meet and have a few drinks and a laugh with.
“Nothing, I wanted to come out, I’m not dead just because I’m married”
“That’s true, but…Normally happy people don’t take off their rings…” Masaki pointed out as he accepted his drink and leaned back against the counter top.
“And normally strippers don’t give relationship advice”
“I’m not a stripper anymore” Masaki hummed slowly not taking any offense at his words or his tone and Nino really wished that he would just go away. He had come here not to think not to be badgered.
“That was fast, too good for it?”
“Nope! I enjoyed dancing but…I started dating someone” Masaki beamed and Nino sighed remembering that that look had probably been on his face when he had talked about Satoshi a year ago.
“So, you gave it up for them?”
“I became the manager of the bar” Masaki smiled a little more widely before humming “I started dating Sho-chan”
“Sho…As in Sakurai Sho? Owner of the Red Sakura?” Nino stared in amazement at his friend wondering how he had achieved that. Sakurai Sho was, or rather had been, the most eligible bachelor in their circle before he had gotten married. Many wanted to date him, even Nino before he had met his sleepy old man, but all were rebuffed. “How in the fuck did you do that?”
“I kept refusing to date him. I wasn’t interested in him to be honest, I always wanted somebody less complicated, but he was really cute”
“And now he lets you run the bar you used to work at” Nino laughed drily at the craziness of the situation before remembering who he was taking to. Masaki was model handsome with an even better personality it should have been obvious to anyone that Sho would have become bewitched by him.
“Yup! I live with him too! You should come around, bring your husband…I’ve never met him!”
“You want me to introduce my salaryman husband to a gangster and a stripper?” Nino asked the idea completely amusing him as he tried to imagine Satoshi sitting down with either of the pair. “Actually, that sounds fun…” Nino stopped speaking as his eyes moved over to the other side of the club. It had felt as though he had been watched all night and now he could see that it wasn’t just his imagination. The man in question was sitting in the VIP section wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and a jacket and he was probably the best-looking man Nino had ever seen. “Who’s he?”
“Matsumoto Jun…You should leave him alone, Sho said that he’s nothing but trouble…”
