krystalkatzficz“With Nino, it has to be burgers” Risa laughed happily at their side swinging the bag of his old clothes down by her leg. Sho had insisted that he wear the clothes out of the store and after Sho had paid the obscene prices with his card the shop assistant had been more than happy to let him though Nino had the feeling that the man thought he was dating Sho or something. “Hey, you have quite a lazy life though, Nii-chan, to be able to come out here like this”
“It’s my day off from work and I’m allowed to take a break from studying” Sho shrugged his hand closing around the t-shirt to stop him from walking as they came to a road “More to the point; are you sure it’s okay for you two to be out here? Aren’t you practicing for your entrance exams? Are you still struggling with English, Nino-chan? I can tutor you if you like”
“…I’m fi…Actually you could help me” Nino whispered surprising himself and Risa who let out a surprised noise and Nino’s cheeks flushed. He hadn’t meant to say it; his English had improved a lot in the last year but it would give him an excuse to spend more time with Sho. Maybe if he did then he would realise that he was nothing but the kind but goofy, idiot brother of his best friend again. “I mean if you have time…”
“I wouldn’t have offered if I didn’t think I did. I’m always ready to help you, you just have to ask” Sho’s tone was a little strange but Nino could barely register that over the sound of his own heart rushing against his ears.
“…Good…I mean you’re a goof but you’re pretty smart” Nino knew that smart didn’t really cut it. Somehow Sho had managed to get into the top 50 in the entire country. It had been the result of a lot of hard work and determination. Nino knew exactly how he had celebrated with Aiba in his bedroom. His cheeks burned as he desperately tried to get rid of the memory of Aiba going down on Sho.
“Thanks, wow! The first time I ever got a compliment from the great Ninomiya Kazunari!” Sho grinned and Nino slammed his body against Sho’s his cheeks hot as Risa let out a quiet laugh and a snort which sounded suspiciously like ‘I told you so’. The hand stayed around his back but now it was moving indicating that Sho knew that it was there and didn’t seem to want to take it away even when it moved down to almost settle over his bum.
“Don’t push it”
“No, but it makes me happy to get a compliment from somebody as cute as you” Sho hummed squeezing his right cheek once before sliding his hand back up to the small of his back. Nino was sure that his heart stopped in his chest, he knew for a fact that his breathing did before he managed to hiss out;
“Eh?”
“This way, there is an amazing restaurant down here that serves even better burgers that Nino has ever had” Sho said easily going once more into his relaxed tone that he always had as Risa’s older brother. Nino looked at his friend but found her looking positively delighted with this strange turn of events and he was uncomfortably sure that when they reached the restaurant she would make some lame excuse and leave them alone. Her fingers were already itching to go to the phone in her pocket.
“If you leave me I kill you” He hissed quietly knowing that his best friend wouldn’t be effected by his tone and sure enough she gave a grin and a wink saluting him with three fingers to her temple mouthing back;
“It would be a noble death”
“Cow” Nino shot back not catching her response when Sho drew his attention to back to him by asking;
“Have you decided where you’ll be staying when you enter college? You’re going to the same one as me, your mum told my mine and she told me” Sho explained and Nino gave a nod. It had been an almost unconscious choice they had just offered the course that he wanted to do and that he would be allowed a year to study in the same school as Sho was a bonus. “Have you decided?”
“Dad says that I can commute…”
“Might be tough, rush hour that early in the morning” Sho hummed and Nino gave a shrug not wanting to say that his parents had pretty much outright refused to help him pay for rent on an apartment closer to the campus. It might have been better if he had decided to go to the same college as Risa but they hadn’t offered him the same course. “…Why don’t you come live with me?”
“Eh?”
“It makes sense, right? I’m close to the campus, I don’t need any help with the rant, though you’d have to help out with food…”
“But…But…You…Me?” Nino stammered wondering how he would be able to cope with living with Sho if he had dates over and things. Sho gave him a smile his hand finally moving away from his back so that he could tap him on the nose.
“You don’t have to look so shocked, I want do anything you wouldn’t want…” Nino was sure that there was a hidden hint of something there buried in the words that he hadn’t noticed “I just thought it would help you out…Come in let’s have dinner and we can talk about it”
