Vampire High part 6

 Matsumoto Jun; second son of the pure blood Matsumoto line stared at his surrounding with disdain and a quiet kind of loathing that was making the back of his mouth taste funny. It wasn’t exactly an unpleasant sight, there were worse places that a school could be set. It was on a warm tropical island with a completely sleek and modern compound with dormitories that were full of the latest home comforts. There was a crisp beach which surrounded the entire island with near pristine sand and waves that looked good for surfing and Jun hoped that he would be able to visit it at some point but that was, in his mind at least, the only bright side of the whole thing. 

He had opposed the idea of a mixed school even before being informed that he would be attending it and he still loathed the idea now. The very idea that he would be forced to mingle with humans chilled him to the bone, more so as he had been informed by his sire that they hoped that he would form an attachment to one of the humans and thoroughly mix the vampires with the humans. As he was only the second son he wasn’t needed to keep the blood line pure but he couldn’t imagine himself falling for any of the humans.  

“If you keep scowling like that your face will set that way, little brother” His elder brother said with a smirk coming up behind him and pushing at the small of his back with a gentle hand shoving him forward so quickly he wasn’t prepared for the stairs and almost ended up falling. “Father hasn’t backed down in the last year, he’s not going to do so now that it is the day the humans will be arriving so you might as well accept the inevitable”

“What are you doing here? I thought you would be preparing for your wedding. Or are you leaving it to the Ikuta’s?” Jun sneered knowing that it was a lame come back but he couldn’t think of anything else to say. His brother had always been the bane of his life and the only bright side of the school had been that he would be getting away from the man that would one day be head of his house. The elder vampire swelled with pride his eyes flashing a deep purple as his head tilted ever so slowly sidewise and he smirked;

“Father asked me to be here to represent the family during this week”

“Father isn’t coming himself?” Jun asked a touch of a hiss to his voice thinking that it was typical of the head Matsumoto to do something like this. The man had been so insistent that they would have a school and that the seconds or thirds would mingle with humans but he wouldn’t disgrace himself by mingling himself.

“He has other matters to attend to but he will be here for the party…Professor Sakurai” Jun rolled his eyes as his brother immediately straightened up his back and bowed at Sakurai Sho who had all but insisted that he would act as headmaster to the mixed school. As the current head of one of the most prominent of the vampire families everyone had been shocked at his insistence but nobody had been able to argue with it.

“Heir Matsumoto and Jun, here already?” Sho smiled with the friendliness that he had always shown to them his ruby red eyes looking almost impossibly bright in the sunlight. There had been a time, when Jun was much younger, that he had fancied himself in love with the professor and would have felt uncomfortable under that smile but that had waned with age and the knowledge that Sho would never even look at him with anything more than friendliness. He still wondered what kind of person would finally manage to get through to the man that only seemed obsessed with work.

“My brother has been here since yesterday, sir, but I’ve only just arrived I will be acting on behalf of my father” His brother said with all the inflated pomp of a stuffed peacock and Jun found his eyes wandering again surprised when he saw the heir of the Ohno house walking through a group of flowers looking as out of everything as ever. His hair was a mess and clothing looked as though it could have been put on in the dark. He didn’t pay attention to them but settled himself down on a bank with his arms tucked under his head. Once he was comfortable it seemed that Satoshi swiftly to sleep basking in the sun which was streaming down through the leaves.

“Heir Ohno has decided that he would enjoy being here at the school” Sho informed with a little chuckle his own eyes on the wayward heir. “It wasn’t expected but I will be putting him in the same dorm as you, Jun, I hope that you will keep him from getting into trouble. I’m sorry, the boats will be arriving soon, I have things that I still have to prepare”

So heirs aren't to mix with the humans but the rest of the children can? That might be a problem for Sho and Ohno then. Course families may have different views too. Interesting. So these vampire's are able to walk in the sun? They just need blood huh? 😊
