Omega part 78

 “Tamako-san, I’m sorry to ask but has there been any time that Umeda-san has used non-prescription medication near the children?” The police officer asked half an hour later when he had explained everything to the tired woman. Nino felt nothing but sympathy for the woman who looked as though she was about to cry. Her fingers were gripping tightly to the clothes that she was wearing and her teeth were nipping at her lower lip. She looked as though there was great many things that she wanted to say but she looked too fearful to say them. It was as though it was a physically painful for her to speak and Nino had a strange and deeply unwelcome realisation. It came so quickly and so suddenly that it was as though water had been poured down his spine and he shivered almost violently.

“You’re an omega bound to Umeda aren’t you?” He breathed with a hiss, it was a horror story that seemed to cruel to have been real and yet here it was. It was strange for there to be a female Omega but it made sense that that was how she was still here when most people would have fled and why she was visibly shaking now. “He took you and calmed you”

“He…You don’t know anything about him, he wouldn’t…He…” She spluttered slowly her eyes filling with tears and immediately Nino got up from his chair and knelt in front of her, his hands taking hers tightly. Her body stared to rocking shakily and if there was another reason needed to hate Umeda this would have been it.

“Officer may we speak alone for a moment?” He asked the police officer who looked as mortified as he was feeling. The young beta nodded slowly and rose to his feet and left the room with a click of the door. Once they were alone he squeezed the hands in his and gave the most understanding smile that he could manage “I’m sorry for saying that, I’m young, and idealistic” He breathed gently “My husband, Kiyoshi’s brother, is as nice as Kiyoshi was”

“I’m glad to hear that, that’s all that Kiyoshi wanted in his last days” Tamako whispered shakily her shoulders lifting and falling in a heavy way as though she was fighting her hardest to speak. Nino was once again amazed by the warmth that Kiyoshi had shown to him when they had only met the once. “He never wanted you to go…”

“I know that this is hard for you and that it goes against everything inside of you” Nino whispered encouragingly hating himself for pushing her like this but he knew that she needed to tell them about any drug use that Umeda might have had “But this is not a natural bond”

“I know that but it is still a bond. It was the reason that he did it” Tamako said slowly her eyes watering as beads of sweat started forming on her forehead. Nino could remember the overwhelming feeling that he had had when he had thought he had upset Satoshi. It had been a horrible feeling and he could well understand some of what the woman in front of him was going through. “He wanted a salve that couldn’t speak against him and that’s what he got”

“I’m sorry. I wish that I could make it end for you. I can’t but Satoshi can or at least he can if you help him” He said gently again squeezing her fingers between his. “He can make sure that he doesn’t hurt his children. Can you imagine the life he would give them if any of his children presented as an omega?”

“…I know…Its something that terrifies me every day” She sighed heavily pressing back against the chair back her eyes closing revealing the deep purples that decorated her eyes and he wondered if it was from lack of sleep of if Umeda had beaten her at some point. Her lips drew into a thin line her cheeks hallowing in on themselves as her chest rose and fell slowly. “Okay, I can’t promise that I will be able to tell you everything but I will do my best, for the children”
