“You already told him?” Sho asked his eyes raking over him slowly and Satoshi drew himself up to all his somewhat unimpressive height refusing to be intimidated by the look. Sho might be his prince but Nino was his lover and bonded he didn’t think that it was meant to be a secret. After all, it would have been hard to keep something like this a secret when it was obvious that Masaki had a true connection to Sho and Nino wasn’t an idiot.

“You thought I was going to keep it a secret? I told him as much as I could, as much as I understood of what you told me” He bit back his arm coming around Nino tightly not liking the way that his brother-in-law was looking at him. He knew that it was because Sho was young, he had never known a time when the law against same sex relationships was in place and he had even less of an idea of a time when relationships between vampires and had been anything but sour and hateful. Sho’s face relaxed quickly though a smile forming on his lips as he shook his head saying;

“No, I wasn’t expecting it to be a secret, I just thought you would wait for me to explain”

“I asked why you were connected to my boy. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting what he told to me, I never imagined that you would do something as stupid as making a homunculus” Nino said with a smirk on his lips and Sho’s smile slipped into a smirk of his own as he gave a slow nod replying with;

“I doubt you ever though that you would do something as stupid as creating a bond between you and a werewolf, as it was we both did something stupid” Nino flinched his eyes coming to look at his and Satoshi was sure that there was a muffled correction on his lips as though it wasn’t a mistake that had created the bond between them. “I’m sure that we both thought we were trying to help and were both trying to do good”

“…The best laid schemes o' mice an' men” Nino hummed sounding as though he were quoting something. Satoshi had to admit that he was impressed by his puppy. Nino had lifted himself completely and was looking every bit as impressive as Sho and he figured that it was because he was wrapped in a calm air of self-confidence. It was the same air that he felt around his wife and Sho and it supposed it had a lot to do with the fact that Nino, no matter how young, small, and bratty he was, was an alpha of the werewolves.
The prince that would one day rule. Whatever it was he had quoted it seemed that Sho was impressed as he gave a smile and inclined his head slowly saying;

“Indeed, the humans used to say that the road to hell was paved with good intentions. I like to think that it’s a sign that we’re not so different from each other” The vampire prince turned away after he and Nino had stared at each other in silence for a while “Would you care for a drink? Or have you already taken your fill from my brother-in-law? It must be so convenient to have a lover that you can drink from. Perhaps, werewolves and vampires were made for each other”

“A drink would be fine thank-you, I didn’t drink all that I wanted” Nino answered while Satoshi watched the pair who seemed to be playing a game that he really didn’t seem to understand. Neither of them were acting the way he had grown used to and he hoped that it was simply because they were both princes. “Your library is impressive; do you find the information yourself? Or do people tell you their stories of battle and you just write them down?”

“As the son of the vampire king, I rarely see the front lines. Werewolf royalty leads from the front vampire strategy is a little different” Sho answered calmly though Satoshi knew that it was a sore spot for his brother-in-law. Sho hated having never seen a real battle and had often confessed to him that he admired the werewolf approach more than the vampire. It was a sentiment that a lot of the vampires echoed when they thought nobody in power was listening. “But I don’t agree that it is the right way. We both hate the fighting Ninomiya, shall we focus on that?”

“If you like, but first tell me exactly what you did to my boy”
