“…This is nice…” Satoshi breathed happily as they walked around the lake making sure to stay on the paths that were already laid out for them. It was the kind of place he had always dreamt about living. He could imagine himself on a dock with Nino beside him and their children playing in the shallows. “Would you like to live somewhere like this? Not yet…” He hummed knowing that he would never leave the city until he was 100 percent certain that another omega would never have to go through what his brother went through and he knew that Nino will understand that. “but one day in the future when we have won…”

“Do you think you will ever win?” Nino asked him taking a stone from the floor and skimming it skilfully over the lake before it sank causing ripples to race around the almost mirror perfect lake distorting the images of the surrounding trees and the clouds that were high in the darkening sky and Satoshi gave a nod saying;

“…I won’t give up trying…I will submit the documents as many times as I can and I will chip away at until they realise that the only way that they can get rid of me is if the agree…But I’m sure that you are going to be a big help too…”

“…You keep saying that, but I really can’t do anything…” Nino picked up another stone and skipped it five times over the lake before grinning proudly as he did a fist pump. Satoshi chuckled and then bent down himself to lift a stone of his own asking;

“Can you show me how do that?”

“…You’ve never skipped stones? Masaki and Toma showed me how to do it when I first came to the school…” Nino explained happily taking his hand and looking at the stone a few times and Satoshi congratulated himself for skilfully stirring his husband away from another panic. “This should work on a calm lake like this but…But normally you’ll need a flatter stone…The angle is what’s important…You need to twist and flick…” Nino showed him the movements a couple of times and Satoshi copied the movement before they moved forward and stood by the edge of the lake. “Wanna try for real?”

“Sure…Just don’t laugh at me when I fail…” He asked with a chuckle of his own turning his hand before flicking his wrist just as Nino had showed him. The stone shot out of his hand and sank straight into the lake with a plop. “Bugger…What did I do wrong”

“The speed…I think…The angle was right but the speed…You need to add a little more just to keep it going when it hits the water…Here…Let me get you another stone…” Nino searched the banks of the lake quickly and then came back to him carrying at least a dozen different sized stones. “The brown one should be best…Just take it like I showed you and release with a little more speed…”

“Okay…Here I go for round two…” Satoshi said playfully winding up his arm and then forcing the stone out over the water. It worked a little better this time, he did manage to get a skip before the plop and sinking into the depths. “I did it…Sort of…Let me have
another go…”

“Um…Try changing the angle which you’re sending it at the water…Just a little bit…Yup…That’s right!” Nino nodded happily and for the third-time Satoshi sent the stone skipping merrily over the water for one, two, and then a third time. “You did it!”

“It was only three…” Satoshi responded but he couldn’t deny that he was pleased by the proud look Nino gave him. “Shall we try it together?”

“Yup!”
