krystalkatzficzNino smiled at his husband his stomach churning somewhat nervously as he tried to take in what was being said. The words to him were more beautiful than the wedding vows they had shared and if he were truly honest with himself he was overwhelmed by them and he couldn’t understand what had changed and why. Satoshi had been so distant to him for the early part of their honeymoon and, as if overnight, he had changed completely.
“Why?” He whispered before he could stop himself and Satoshi blinked looking understandably confused as he cocked his head to one side and hummed;
“I’m sorry?”
“Why…Why…Did…Why…Did…Did you change?” Nino forced the words out his head dipping submissively and he could only hope that Satoshi understood him this time. Fingers reached up and cupped at his chin tilting his face back up so they were staring at each other again. Nino had expected Satoshi to be angry at his question but instead he looked a strange mixture of pleased and sad.
“…Pussycat, I have a confession to make…” He breathed heavily and Nino swallowed down the sudden lump that came to the back of his throat as he stared into the deep swirls of brown that made-up Satoshi’s eyes. The alpha blinked slowly after they had stared at each other for an age and then he moved away a little letting out a sigh before brushing his fingers through his hair and mussing it up “This is neither the time nor the place that I imagined making it but…I have been treating you unfairly and if we are to make our marriage work I don’t want to have any secrets between us…” Nino swallowed again, his heart dancing around in his chest as he prepared himself for something bad. “…I…The only reason that I wanted to marry you was because Kiyoshi asked me too…”
“Kiyoshi-san…He…Asked you?” Nino asked his knees feeling as though they wanted to give in. The relief was so strong after having everything bad he could possibly think of going through his mind. He felt awful that Satoshi had been forced into marrying him but it wasn’t as bad as he had feared. Satoshi gave a nod and then motioned to the leather wing back chair that had been a wedding gift from Masaki to his husband.
It was probably the only expensive thing the pair owned but Masaki had saved up for a long time earning money by working for the teachers, cleaners, and cooks so that he could afford it because Sho had always wanted one and it felt strange for Nino to sit in it now. He also couldn’t believe in that moment that was the thought that was going through his head but it was better than the idea that your husband wanted you even less than he had thought.
“…In the last month of his life, the last time I saw him alive…The first time I’d seen him since his marriage…He summoned me to his house and he told me that he was dying…” Satoshi told him slowly kneeling down in front of him and staring at him earnestly “My brother had been sick for several years at that point but his husband insisted upon his marital rights…He wanted as many children as possible not caring that it was destroying my brother…”
“I’m sorry…”
“…It’s not your fault pussycat…While I was there he told me that his husband knew that he was dying too and that he was eying up his replacement…” Satoshi took his hands now their fingers linking and Nino heard blood rushing through his ears. “As he was already married he couldn’t make a formal offer on you…Not until my brother died…So he asked me to make an offer on you first…At first I hated the idea…It went against everything that I stood for…It still does, Kazunari…You must understand that…”
“…I do…But why…Why would you…”
“Because, I wouldn’t allow you to go through that suffering…It was only after I had agreed that Kiyoshi told me that he’d met you as a child when you had first presented…He said that he had promised you that he would make sure that nothing bad would happen to you…”

Date: 2017-01-13 10:01 am (UTC)I'm so happy that ohno made an offer. Nino would have died during the first weeks with that other man. And I just can't understand that nobody cares if people do such things with the omegas they are bonded to. Don't they have any rights?
