He was surprised and happy to see that he had removed his tie and jacket while releasing the buttons from around his throat. It made him look less fearful and unapproachable almost like the way they had been on their honeymoon. Satoshi reached out and took his hand swiftly, entwining their fingers as he held him in front of him and Nino was genuinely surprised and embarrassed when his cleared his throat and said somewhat uncertainly “Your friend…He is a romantic but…He’s right…Omegas, like you and your friend, you are the most special...”
“…You…heard that?” Nino asked his cheeks burning crimson as he wondered just how much he had heard. It seemed likely that he had heard the entire thing and probably knew that he was terrified of doing a poor job of being his assistant.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean too, I would never normally violate your privacy in that way…” Satoshi informed him and Nino smiled knowing that somehow it was the truth. There was a faint trace of colour in his cheeks and his lips were pursed in a way that seemed to be tense and uncomfortable “…I was just coming down from upstairs…And I overheard…I wasn’t going to say anything but…I wanted…I needed you to know that your friend is correct…Do you know why…I wanted to get the bonding bracelets over the rings?”
“Because…They are traditional…”
“…They date back to the time when the first Omega started to present, omega would give the bracelets to their chosen...The scent drove the alphas mad first…They craved the omega, they fell to their knees in worship to them, to protect them from all harm. The omega was raised in temples, said to have been taught by the gods themselves…” Satoshi said in a voice that suggested that he had said this speech a dozen or more times before but had been met with refusal “At first it seemed that only an Alpha was fit for an omega…We are by design stronger and faster than beta and gamma…And…They were the only ones capable of forming a true bond with an omega…”
“A true bond?” Nino looked at the bracelet on his wrist watching the way that Satoshi’s fingers placed with the twisting gold as the Alpha hummed giving a nod.
“…Mating with an omega is final…You, are loyal to only one that mated you…It causes you physical pain to even think of cheating…You…You would find it impossible to even talk badly about me…People…Idiots will call that a true bond…The will hold it over people, treat the omega they have like garbage thinking that it is their right…” Satoshi gave a growl now and Nino knew that his husband had to be thinking about his brother and the monster that he had been forced to marry. He wanted to hug him tight and tell him that it was all going to be okay “But they are idiots…That is not a true bond at all…”
“It’s not?”
“…If anything, it is a half bond…Sealed from only one side…A true bond…A true bond is sealed from both…When a true bond has taken place…It would cause physical pain to both parties to think of cheating…I would find it impossible to talk badly of you…I would die before I hurt you…” Satoshi breathed in his ear his face suddenly close to his and Nino couldn’t help but shiver his eyes closing at the unexpected closeness.
“Why? Why…Omega are…Useless...”
“Far from it…Omega are the ones that make us whole, already I can feel you changing and improving me…I will prove that to you my pussycat I promise…”
