krystalkatzficz “You…You’re marrying…Jun?” Nino asked wondering why his heart jumped more than a little uncomfortably. He rubbed at his chest for a moment his mind filled with images of the friendly, handsome beta. Jun had always been nice to him, flattering him sometimes, while being completely unafraid to berate him the next. He blinked a few times trying to reign in the spiralling emotions that were buzzing through him. He smiled brightly and hurried over to his friend “Congratulations! You and Jun will be very happy together…”
“You…You’re not bothered?” Toma breathed, sounding incredibly relieved, and Nino shook his head slowly whispering;
“Bothered? Why would I be bothered?”
“…Because you and Jun…” Toma’s arms tightened around him before letting him go so that he could study his face “You always seemed to be close…”
“…Not that close…” Nino mumbled the uncomfortable feeling returning into his chest “Jun was…Is close to us all…”
“…Yeah but…You and he...You were together the most…” Masaki chirped and Nino glared rolling his shoulders in a half-hearted shrug his hand closing ever more tightly on his phone and the action causing his muscles in his arms to twitch brushing against his bonding bracelet. The cool metal felt so natural against his skin, more so then the ring, that it was easy to forget that he was wearing it and he blinked again sighing as he muttered;
“If you two are done making crazy talk I have to call back my husband…You know…Husband…As in the man that I am married to…”
“Okay, okay, I get the hint! I should call Sho-chan anyway!” Masaki hummed happily adding “We’re going to try phone sex!”
“No…As long as you are my roommate you’re not!” Toma hissed in response and Nino chuckled glad that the strangely tense atmosphere had vanished between them. His two friends packed up what remained of the midnight feast while bickering back and forth and Nino sighed a little before dropping himself down onto his bed looking up at the ceiling thoughts of Jun popping into his head before they were replaced by the sleepy but cute face of his husband.
“Nino, I’m glad you’re back…” Masaki told him with a grin and Nino smiled in return not saying the same. He was glad to see his friends again but he wished that he was with Satoshi in their hotel room. “It gets easier…” Nino started, looking up at his friend, surprised at the change in his tone to a more serious one. “The missing him…It will get easier…I mean it never goes away…But it does get easier to cope with…”
“…I still don’t know him very well…” Nino muttered looking down at the phone wishing that he could have had longer with his husband.
“…I think that’s what makes him…Okay? I can’t explain it…You and he…You weren’t like Sho-chan and me…I mean…I’ve known him all my life and I’ve always known that he was going to be my husband…That sounds bad…Like I didn’t really want to marry him! Cause I did…I totally love Sho-chan!” Masaki gushed quickly his voice getting louder as he flapped his arms around like a bird trying to take off and Nino chuckled flashing his best friend a grin before saying sweetly;
“I know you do…He’s great for you…At least he has brains…”
“Yup, Sho-chan is really smart!” Masaki beamed, his face alight with pride as Nino’s joke went sailing over his head. “But…I mean…If he didn’t care about you, Satoshi-san, I mean, then…Then he wouldn’t have waited and he wouldn’t want you to ring…So anyway...”
“Masaki…Do you have any idea what you were saying?” Toma asked dryly rolling his eyes as he pushed him towards the door and Nino snorted again waving them goodbye before staring at his phone wondering what he was going to say to Satoshi.
