Nino sighed just a little wistfully as he looked up at the school building that was in front of him. So much had changed since he had first looked at the building, for starters instead of his father’s and holding his it was Satoshi and their fingers were threaded together perfectly.

“I will come and take you away for the weekend…” Satoshi promised which was a different thing from what he had told him at the beginning of their marriage and Nino was glad of it “Every week I promise, Pussycat…”

“…I’m still going to miss you in the week…” Nino admitted shyly looking up at him with his cheeks growing warm in colour. It wasn’t something that he would have thought possible at the beginning of their wedding but it was completely true. He was going to miss his owl more than he could ever have imagined. “And you have work…”

“I’m also recently married…I doubt that there would be any arguments about my wanting to spend time with you…There would more eyebrows raised if I didn’t want to spend time with you…”  Satoshi looked down at the watch on his wrist and then continued with soft hum “In fact, I’m sure you could go back a little later…Shall we go around the village?”

“Nino! Nino, you’re back!” A voice screamed and Nino turned from his husband to see his friend and Sho running towards them. Masaki’s face was alight with happiness and Nino gave a smile keeping his hand on Satoshi’s. Satoshi’s body stiffened as they reached them and before he realised what was happening he was being held tightly from behind. Masaki didn’t seem fazed by it just came to a screeching halt in front of them both. “Did you have a good wedding! I wish that I could have been there! Did you have lots of fun? Is this your new husband? Ehhh? You have rings and bonding bracelets! So pretty!”

“Masaki, calm down, you should Nino answer a question before asking another…” Sho said with a sigh and a fond smile on his face as his hand came up to brush at his neck and Masaki flushed and dropped down in silence saying;

“Sorry, Sho-chan!”

“Um…Satoshi…This is my best-friend Sakurai Masaki and his husband Sakurai Sho…Masaki, Sho…This is my husband, Ohno Satoshi…” Nino breathed somewhat nervously glad that Satoshi had relaxed against him and was only holding him loosely around his waist. “The wedding was…Okay…But the holiday was amazing! Satoshi gave me a card for arcades! I won on them!”

“Wow! Nice to meet you, sir!” Masaki said bobbing his head quickly at Satoshi who had closed off again now there were with new people that he didn’t know. Masaki looked a bit bewildered by his attitude but Nino decided that he would talk to him about it later.

“Satoshi, shall we go around the village?” He asked turning around in Satoshi’s arms so they were facing each other with fixed expressions and Satoshi blinked for a moment before asking;

“…Don’t you want to be with your friend?”

“…I’ll be with him soon, I want to spend more time with you…” He whispered honestly and Satoshi’s face moved into a little smile his eyes softening a lot as he gave a nod and then lightly kissed his nose saying;


“Okay, little pussycat…”

Nino flushed at the easy endearment but his insides wriggled around like he had snakes buried within him. It wasn’t altogether unpleasant but it did feel funny. Nino turned to look at the uncharacteristically speechless Masaki and jerked his head in his direction before both he and Satoshi turned away from the school again and head back out into the village.
