Sho moved into the little holiday home that had been created for him and Masako. The conversation that he had just had with Nino clear in his head. He felt guilty for putting more pressure on his young wife when he knew that she must be going through enough on her own as it was. The house was in darkness and he tried to remember when the last time he came back in the light was. He sighed and toed off his shoes throwing off his jacket and the satchel down onto the table that was designed for the purpose. He tugged off the tie and then moved forward through the house and trudged up the stairs to the bedroom.
Masako was already in bed, laid on her side with one arm tucked under her head with her eyes closed. She was wearing one of his t-shirts which was too big for her while at the same time being too short meaning that it exposed the top of her legs and the swell of her bottom and the barest hint of her stomach over the top of her panties. He gave a smile and then sat on the bed beside her. His hand came up to run down her arm causing goose pimples to form on her skin but she didn’t wake. He moved down and kissed her shoulder and then carefully moved aside her hair so that he could press a gentle kiss to her cheek. This time Masako let out a murmur and opened her eyes slowly looking up at him dimly.
“Sh-Sho-chan…?” She hummed smiling just a little bit as she said almost drunkenly “Welcome home…There’s dinner…”
“…I’m home…Masa…Come outside and look at the stars with me?” He mumbled not completely sure why he said it but the smile that lit up Masako’s face made it worthwhile and she quickly jumped off the bed and pulled on a skirt. Wordlessly they walked back out of their house and into the garden. Nino had vanished, probably going back to Jun and his bed and together he and Masaki laid down on one of the garden chairs. Masako’s head rested on his chest her arm draped over his stomach and it was only Sho that could see the stars but his wife didn’t seem to mind. “I’m sorry, Masako…I didn’t…I didn’t mean to upset you…”
“You spoke to my dad?” Masako asked sounding embarrassed as she pressed her face even further into his chest and Sho hugged her more tightly pressing his lips to the top of her head. “I didn’t mean to moan to him Sho-chan…I understand that you are scared…And that you want to do as much as you can by yourself…But…”
“But I’m not alone…I forgot that, Masako…Well, not really forgot but…I forgot that we’re in this together…” Sho breathed slowly his hand going down to cover her stomach “And I do want this baby…I was just scared that I wouldn’t be a good father…We’re both so young…But I forgot that we both had excellent examples of young parents doing an amazing job…”
“We did…Our parents are amazing parents…” Masako chuckled shifting around on the chair so they were laid fully side by side looking up at the sky saying “Me and dad used to do this, right up until before we got married…”
“I know, that’s why we here right now…He said something about it…” Sho admitted and Masako let out a chuckle moving so she was sitting on his legs with her hands resting on his shoulders. Her head was surrounded by the dark sky and the twinkling stars and he was reminded of their honeymoon and all the times that they had been on the boat making love under the stars. He was a little disappointed that their life alone together was coming to close quicker than he would have liked but he knew that that didn’t mean that it was the end of their lives. “I love you, Masako…And I’m so sorry that I upset you…”
“It’s okay Sho-chan…I guess that we’ve both been so nervous and worked up…All that worry about what dad was going to say didn’t help…” She whispered and Sho gave a sigh nodding slowly and happily as he closed his eyes remembering the fear he had felt and realising just how stupid it was to have worried. Nino was a lot of things and there was a chance that he was upset or horrified by the fact that he was going to be a grandfather but more than anything he loved his daughter. “But we should have known that he would support us ne?”
“Yes...I suspect that he’s going to spoil his grandchild…” Sho chuckled and Masako nodded sticking out his tongue saying with her arms folded across her chest as she said;
“Like you will ne? I must be the stern one!”
“Stern? You’re as stern as a bunny in a snow storm…” Sho laughed flipping them over so Masako was on her back and his mouth was pressed close to her stomach. His hands on either side of the swell he addressed his baby saying “Your mama is going try and be stern with you but…You know that she will stop half way shouting at you and burst into tears so you’re going to have to pretend to be chastened…”
“I…I can be stern!” Masako huffed wiggling around colour highlighting her cheeks and Sho kissed the stomach before sticking out his tongue and he said;
“Yup like a kitten!”
“Kittens have claws!” Masako pointed out and the man gave a warm chuckle and then blew a raspberry on her stomach. Masako let out a shriek with she did try to stifle before pushing him off the chair and running away. Sho chased after her and before he realised it they were in the still warm water of the pool. Their arms were wrapped around one another and their mouths crushed together in a hot and fiery kiss. Their tongues did battle and Masako’s long legs wrapped around him crushing her body against his as she made gentle little thrusts against him. Sho immediately responded pressing back into her. Their breathing became sharper as they moved lost in the moment and each other.
It felt so long since they had come together like this and he moaned against the mouth that was covering his. His hands gripped at her buttocks forcing her closer and closer to him as they rubbed up against each other growing faster and faster until they came at the same together with mutual shouts of each other’s names. Breathing shakily now they pulled apart and stared at each other their eyes glassy with sappy smiles on their faces.
“I love you, Masako…And I will love our child…I promise that I’ll do my very best for you both…” He breathed saying the words with as much seriousness as he had said his wedding vows and Masaki reached up and caressed his cheek with her fingertips.
“We’ll work together, ne?” She said and Sho nodded capturing her hand and kissing her fingertips one at a time before doing the same with her palm. It was strange that two months of stress and worry could be wiped away with one conversation from his normally bratty father-in-law but was so happy that it was.
