The Alpha and the Omega part 209

krystalkatzficzNino licked his lips nervously and enviously as his tiny baby was lifted from the cot by Ohno and held tenderly against his chest. He had wanted to be the one that first got to hold him but he knew that his stupidly weak body wouldn't allow him that and Ohno holding their baby first was better than Mao or Erika. He liked both women he truly did but this was his pup and he was already feeling like a failure.
For some reason Yumehiko looked even smaller out of the protection of the cot and a small irrational part of Nino’s mind wanted to tell them to put him back in. It was only the knowledge that nobody in this room would intentionally hurt his pup that kept him silent. If Mao thought that he was ready to be out of the cot, then he could accept that but it was still terrifying to watch. Ohno held the tiny head up to his nose and sniffed him experimentally a nose of surprise leaving his throat before he moved in again saying;
“He smells…”
“Bad?” Nino asked weakly terrified that this was going to be the moment Ohno rejected their son for being a weakling but the alpha laughed shaking his head as he continued to smell the top of his head whispering;
“Like you when you've been playing in the woods with the children…it’s you with added sunshine and the woods smell…it's my favourite scent…Here you smell…” Ohno brought the baby forward and Nino felt his heart clench as he realised that this was it he was going to have skin to skin contact with his baby for the first time since his birth and this time he was awake for it. His tongue lapped nervously at his dry lips before holding out his arms.
Ohno smiled at him as he gently rested the baby into his arms and against his chest. The sensation was almost overwhelming and he breathed sharply through his nose his heart melting into a puddle of goo. Yumehiko’s eyes opened as he held him against his heart and he gasped at the sight deciding that he had never seen anything more beautiful in this world and that included his lover and the face he had made when they had created their little son.
He was so tiny still and he knew that there was no way that he could see him but he was sure that he was frowning quizzically with his lips pursed out. There were little wrinkles in between his brows and he blinked slowly a few times before his little hand reached out and grabbed a hold of his thumb and Nino wasn’t ashamed to admit that he cried. It wasn’t a lonely tear but more of a sob a he felt the four tiny fingers and thumb wrapped around his and he realised for the first time that Yumehiko had his hands.
“I’m sorry baby, I wanted you to have your other daddy’s hands…” He told his son through the happy tears. The now familiar snuffling started up again and this time Nino joined in bringing his face down and rubbing it against the tiny one who seemed to let out a purr. The scent of Ohno after his morning shower raced over his nostrils almost knocking him sidewise with the force of it. It was all alpha and the natural products he used. His favourite part of the day was pretending to be asleep when he came out of the shower and leaned over and kissed him. “He smells like you…”
“No…His all yours…I’d know that smell anywhere…”
“Children please…” Erika said softly “He smells like both of you…You just pick up on which part you want to smell…Now just enjoy this…”
