krystalkatzficzThe meeting was overly dramatic set in a clearing surrounded by towering, and ancient trees. It was a traditional spot for meetings of challenge and the rain that had started to fall completed the effect. Ohno turned to his lover who was standing beside him looking calm and collected though his scent was that of fear. It was as though he had finally realised that they were relaying on the myths of the Alpha-Omega and Ohno was sure that he was going to throw up. He reached out and took his hand holding it close to him and Nino turned and gave him a small smile which had no heart in it and Ohno returned it with one of his own. There was no need to ask him if he still wanted to go along with this. His mate’s mind was set and he could feel the hum of determination that was radiating off of him. There was a loud crack of thunder above them and the clearing was lit up with a flash of lightning. The rain paused for a moment and then came down with force splashing over their bodies and caused vast puddles on the ground.
The scent of the Ohno pack came in small, wet, wafts and Ohno sighed squeezing the fingers tightly as he looked at Jun, Masaki, and Sho. The members of his pack that he had asked to come as support against dodgy tactics that might be used to sway the challenge. In just a few moments his parents and their chosen three came into view and Ohno recognised his brother and sister along with the beta he had rejected. It was good that she was here as his refusal to marry her was what had started this nonsense in the first place. Her eyes almost enviously moved over the bulk of Nino’s stomach and for some reason Ohno grinned at her and rubbed the rotund stomach smiling when he felt the strong kick of his pup against his hand.
“Urgh…Don’t do that! It knocks the wind out of me…” Nino moaned almost playfully and Ohno kissed his nose and pressed his forehead to his.
“Be safe…Please...No matter what…Be safe…” He breathed in a voice that was meant to be heard only by his mate and maybe his second and Jun made a noise that sounded strangled but thankfully kept his opinions to himself. His parents came out to the centre of the clearing and Ohno took Nino’s hand and led him out their fingers firmly threaded together. His mother stared at him coldly while his father looked almost ashamed his eyes cast to the floor.
“I see you brought the omega with you…This will make things easier…”
“Kazunari Ohno-Ninomiya….” Satoshi growled spelling out his mate’s names carefully feeling Nino’s angry twitch when his mother had referred to him only as Omega. “He is my mate…My lover…The father of my child…Your grandchild…You could at least say his name…”
“He is an omega…You were meant for greater and better things…” His mother said coolly her eyes seething with anger and Ohno growled again forcing himself to stay calm before he issued a challenge to her.
“Greater than an Alpha-omega? Greater than somebody that I love with my heart and soul…? Who loves me in return? Isn’t that what a parent should wish for their child? It is what I will wish for mine…” He spat back his hand once again going to Nino’s stomach and his baby gave another kick though it was softer this time as if he could sense the tension that was thick in the air.
“That’s your problem…You’re too idealistic…You always have been…Shall we do this challenge?”
“Yes…But it isn’t me you’ll be facing…”
“Jun? A man that can’t even be bothered to be leader of his own pack…That is who you send forth as your champion?”
“No…" Nino breathed sounding more confident than Ohno knew he was feeling "That would be me…”
