Ohno cleared his throat drawing the attention of the court. His lover was sitting against him his hand firmly clasped in his. His eyes were wide and his face pale as he made his lips bruised and bloody from chewing on them. He hadn’t stopped shivering since they had entered the clearing that would serve as the court. They had taken up their seats in the centre of the circle with the members of their court on either side of them. Sho was looking completely nervous on Nino’s right hand side but Arianna was sitting comfortably stroking the head of a furry creature that Masaki had given her to look after. She appeared to be in a world of her own but Ohno knew that his sister was probably the most focused there. Her vison may have been lost in the snow storm but her sight was crystal clear. For his own court both Jun and Masaki were looking steady and confident draped in the traditional robes and staring at the men in the cages in front of them.

The humans, with prince Mathias out a little in front, watched them from on the other side of the court and Ohno was almost amused when the prince gave his love a cherry wave before settling into a more refined position. When silence fell on those around them Ohno got to his feet still allowing Nino to hold his hand not caring if anybody thought that it was improper.

“My friends and valued guests…I am honoured to be back with you today our first meeting since I have returned. We have gained our low king and his council…” He said addressing the circle of elders that surrounded the entire court. Their grey robes mimicking the pale light of the moon and shimmering when they moved into bows acknowledging their new low king. “My bond mate Nino…Son of Yurrin who was lost to us…His second I am sure is well known to you all while his third you may feel shocked by but I assure you that Lady Arianna will serve her brother and the people of our clan well in the years that she is with us…They are each new to their roles and I ask that you will guide them so that they may learn how best to serve our clan…Unfortunately now we most turn to the reason that we are gathered…The men before you stand accused of touching my bond mate without permission…They forced their hands on his body in intimate places…”

“We never! That’s a lie! He wanted it!” The three men spoke together their voices becoming jumbled as sheer terror filled their faces. Ohno felt a pulse of anger run through him and he wished there hadn’t been a need for a trial. Men such as these were fit for nothing but the goblins in his opinion but they were not animals and even people like this deserved a trial. He ignored the pulsing of his own eye and then turned to make a sweep of the elders before saying;

“My bond mate finds this too difficult to speak of and has asked that I take his place and tell you as it was told to me…If that is unacceptable…”

“No…That is his right in this…” Mathias spoke roughly his face fixed and steady and Ohno nodded with a smile saying;

“Very well then I will proceed…”
