“Satoshi…” Nino whispered down the line hoping that he didn’t sound like a complete stalker. He had more alcohol after his conversation with Masaki and now he just wanted to talk to Satoshi and make sure that it was the reason that Masaki had given and not that he had started to get cold feet around him. He knew that his voice sounded needy but this was his first ever experience with sex.

“Nino…Is that you? You sound strange?” Satoshi sounded tired but not like he had actually been asleep and Nino gave a drunken little laugh his eyes closed.

“…I think that I might be a little bit drunk…” He admitted before hiccupping and to his relief Satoshi gave a warm chuckle that was like music to his ears. “Satoshi…Do you hate me now or are you just worried about me because of this guy? I know I’m not a good cop…But I’m trying and I want…I wanted you to know that you are the only one…”

“Little fish…Do you even know what you’re saying right now? My guess is that you’re going to wake up tomorrow morning with a sore head and a deep sense of embarrassment...” Satoshi chuckled and Nino pressed the phone into his ear as much as he could, wanting to listen to the sound of his breathing. He knew that what Satoshi was saying was true. He was going to be embarrassed in the morning but more than that he wanted and needed to hear that Satoshi wasn’t just playing around with him. “You should switch off the phone and go to bed…”

“…Tomorrow…I am going to do my best…And do what I can to…To stay out of the way if that’s what you want…” He said slurring a little as he dropped down onto the bed and disturbing Masako who moaned and swayed a little in the bed tucking her arms up under her head and blowing out a raspberry before falling back to sleep. Satoshi sighed softly on the other side of the telephone and Nino felt his heart jump at the sound and then the words that came out of his mouth next;

“That isn’t what I want, little fish, but it’s what I need you to do…This man or men or whatever it is…They are dangerous and they clearly have it in for my club…I brazenly have been calling you my boyfriend to everybody in the place…” Nino smiled a little at that having to admit that he was enjoying this warm conversation from Satoshi. Even if his brain was a little fuzzy from the alcohol his heart was very comforted by the way they washed over him. “If they want to hurt me all they have to do is hurt you…I won’t allow that to happen…So for now, little fish, I suggest that you keep yourself as hidden as possible, from now on I promise that I’ll call you…Please don’t take this as a sign that I don’t trust you…Now go to sleep little fish…I will speak to you in the morning…”

“Promise? Cross your heart and hop to die?” Nino giggled at his own childish way of speaking and then closed his eyes slowly letting out a breath “I miss you…”

“It’s only been half a day…” Satoshi chuckled and then there a squeaking of springs and Nino thought about Satoshi’s large comfortable bed with the beautiful screen that was pulled across to block out the sunlight.

“Your fault you made me addicted to you…”

“I’m addicted to you too…Go to sleep little fish…I cross my heart that I will call you in the morning…”
