Sakurai Sho smirked a little as he saw his brother’s best friend marching back and forth outside his home with his eyes glued to the screen of his mobile phone. He knew what he was doing. In fact, the whole world seemed to be doing the same thing and Sho had to admit that it was nice to see Ninomiya ‘Nino’ Kazunari outside on a nice day even if his eyes were glued to his phone. Having moved out of his parents’ house a years ago he had been sad to think that he wouldn’t see Nino as much the boy was ten years his junior after all and besides Shu they had nothing in common so he was surprised to step out of his sleek up town condo and realise that there was a pokestop across the road to him and that Nino was pacing back and forth like a mad man with a lure to get the Pokémon that were being attracted to it. A few other players would swing by every now and then but Nino was there religiously at the same time. Not wanting anything to happen to his brother’s oldest friend he had taken to taking him drinks and food out and often sitting with him as he paced.
“Shit…” Nino spat angrily looking up from his phone with an ugly scowl across his lips “The servers are down! I had just lured a Tangela”
“I guess that’s a bad thing?” Sho hummed handing the younger man a cup of coffee which Nino took with a brief smile before looking angry again.
“Yeah! The servers are down and probably will be for the rest of the day again...I wasted my incense and lure module!” He muttered and Sho was sure that someone somewhere would understand what he was talking about but he was not that man. He’d downloaded the APP but Pokémon had never been his thing. It wasn’t that he was even the wrong generation he was only 27 after all if anything Nino would have been a little too young to remember when Pokémon was first the biggest thing but he personally hadn’t understood it then and if he was honest he really couldn’t understand it now. “This sucks!”
“Can’t you just reset the game?” He hummed remembering that it worked on his game most of the time but Nino sighed shaking his head and drinking his coffee.
“That would only work if the APP was faulty my end but it’s a worldwide fault I checked…”
“Bummer…” Sho said not knowing what else to say in response to that and Nino gave him an awkward smile and a nod frowning at his phone before putting it and his extra battery in his pocket.
“It’s a good game until it crashes…” He huffed and Sho laughed leaning against the wall and nodding as a few other Pokémon trainers came by grumbling at their phones for a few minutes before marching off again.
“It must be if it keeps you out here all the time…Aren’t there…Pokestops closer to home?”
“…A few…” Nino nodded his cheeks suddenly taking on a pinkish hue as he looked down at his trainers that had clearly seen better days but were comfortable enough that he didn’t want to get rid. “…This one has you though…”
“Huh? What was that?” Sho asked in surprise unable to believe what he had just heard and Nino flushed to the very roots of his hear before saying again;
“This one has you...” Sho smiled a little glad that he wasn’t caught in a one sided crush. It would be difficult; he was still Shu’s best friend but he had grown up a lot since he’d seen him last. Nino’s face went the same shade as a tomato as he thrust the cup at him muttering “…I should go…Thanks for the coffee…”
“…Hey wait…Don’t leave…You can’t say something like that and then just walk off…” Sho said grabbing his arm with his free hand and tugging him towards him. “You have a crush on me?”
“…It’s silly…”
“I don’t think so…I have one on you…” Sho admitted with a smile his eyes flashing at the look of surprise in Nino’s face. He never would have dreamt that this was the way his day would go this morning but he wasn’t going to lose the chance now. “...How about you come in this time?”
“And then what?”
“…We can talk…And then…Maybe find something to do while the serves are down?” Sho purred seductively and Nino shivered at the tone his head nodding back and forth.
*~*~*~*~An hour later*~*~*~*
