‘I’ll have to think about it’ Jun had whispered in the dark of the night and Nino had decided to be satisfied with that. Nino had ended up sharing his bed for the rest of the night deciding that Jun was actually very clingy even when he was asleep. It was cute and reminded him of the picture of the scan his parents had where it looked like they were hugging. Nino had stayed awake for a little while longer than Jun his mind turning over what he was going to do and say to their parents. He knew that now that Jun knew something was happening he couldn’t put it off any longer. He would have preferred to have had Satoshi by himself for a little while longer but that didn’t seem logical. The more he left it the more there was a chance that bad feelings would grow inside Jun until he hated him before giving him a chance. He chewed on his lip his brain whispering frantically what if Satoshi doesn’t want to meet the parents? There was a very real chance that he wouldn’t but after thinking it through Nino doubted that would be the case.

If Satoshi just wanted a bit of fun, he would have run a mile when he had learnt that he had learnt about his heart. Besides Satoshi wasn’t pushing him into anything which seemed to mean that he was in it for the long haul. Or until the next time you have an attack that lands you in hospital, a very nasty voice in his head whispered and Nino tried to shut it down by reminding himself of the way that Satoshi had kissed the scar over his heart and had smiled at him. It worked a little and he decided to use the calm to go to sleep his arms still curled around his brother.

The sound of their alarm woke him a few hours later and he let out a growl pulling himself up from the bed. As it had been a warm night having an extra person’s body temperature against his own hadn’t been the best idea he’d ever had and he was glad that Jun wasn’t an early raiser and that his parents had their own bathroom meaning that there was nobody to fight him for the shower or the toilet. He washed the sweat away from his body and headed back into their room for his uniform, books, and bag.

He picked up his phone and smiled as he saw messages from Satoshi. One from last night and then one from this morning. The first one read simply ‘Sweet dreams’ while the second had a lot more words and he read them as he walked down the stairs. ‘I know you’re not going to get this till you wake up but I just wanted you to know that I’ve had an amazing time these last two days. Thank-you for taking a chance on me and I can’t wait to see you again…’ Nino gave a little embarrassed grin at his phone before slipping down into the chair to do his homework while his mum and dad made breakfast together. He was just finishing up when Jun shuffled in looking sleepy but refreshed in his uniform and he yawned loudly before dropping into the seat beside him and rubbing his eyes.

As always in the Ninomiya-Matsumoto household breakfast was a quiet event with only a few questions about work and school and as always once it was done Jun and Nino washed the pots and dried them before grabbing their bags and leaving for the bus. As they waited at the stop Jun muttered;

“Okay...”

“Huh”

“Okay…I’ll trust you on this…But…Be careful…” Jun hissed as the bus arrived and Nino grinned happily at his brother’s back wishing he could hug him but all he could do was whisper;

“Thanks Jay…”
