Nino groaned as the dog started barking loudly as it jumped up and down at the door clearly wanting to get out again to use the toilet. He didn’t mind so much during the day but it was the middle of the night and he wanted to have as much sleep as possible before his date with Jun not wanting to look washed out or pale with bags under his eyes. He still didn’t know what the older man had planned, no matter how much he had tried to beg and coax Jun had refused to tell him, it was something that had left him feeling frustrated but excited now though he was more frustrated as he pushed the cover away from his body and stood up, stumbling his way to the door and yanking it open surprised that there was still a light coming from the kitchen area and he could smell the scent of cooking. Intrigued he moved forward a little finally understanding why the dog was making so noise. He tried to be sneaky but unfortunately that was impossible with the dog running through ahead of him barking and yipping.

“Nino? Are you awake?” Jun’s voice called sounding completely calm and Nino supposed that the man had already finished whatever it was he was doing and Nino had to admit that he felt almost a little bit disappointed that he hadn’t been able to see and he walked a little more quickly looking sheepishly at the man as he rounded the corner and saw Jun standing in an immaculate kitchen wiping his hands on a towel. “Are you okay?”

“No…That damned dog keeps barking…” He growled jerking his head at the dog which was now scratching its trimmed nails against the polished wood door. “I think it needs to pee again…”

“I’ll take him…” Jun said in a tone that surprised him and Nino sighed happily nodding, glad that he wouldn’t have to go out onto the roof again.

“Why are you up so late?” Nino asked as he went over and got the dog ready by attaching his lead to the collar wanting to add ‘Why are you cooking?’ but he supposed that it had something to do with their date and although he was excited about it he was looking forward to being surprised. He had never had anybody go all out for him before and he was touched that his first ever date was being thought about so carefully by Jun. It made him feel like he was special and right now he enjoyed the colours which came into the older man’s cheeks and the way that his lips twisted awkwardly before he rolled his shoulders in a shrug.

“Couldn’t sleep…You should head back to bed now…I’ll drop the dog back in the room when he’s done…” Jun answered taking the handle of the lead and marching the dog towards the door. Nino chuckled to himself and then rolled his eyes tempted to search the kitchen. He decided against it though knowing that anticipation would make it all the sweeter. With a sigh he headed back to his bedroom rolling his eyes again when he saw that the cat had decided to claim his pillow.

“No you bloody don’t…I don’t know what Masaki lets you do, that’s my pillow and I don’t need a cat on it…” He growled picking up the foul smelling thing and dumping it down onto the soft basket that had been brought along with the animals. The cat gave him a dirty look and then presented his buttocks before dropping down and curling into a ball. Nino sighed and climbed into bed more excited than ever about tomorrow.
