(SakurAiba Chapter)
The trip to the airport was thankfully uneventful with the taxi pulling up outside with more than enough time for them to get through the quick checking which came with the perks of the first class tickets and Masaki soon found himself in the somewhat familiar first class lounge drinking something bubbly, sweet and orange with smelt vaguely of pineapples and mango. It wasn’t alcoholic he had been assured of that but it gave him a strange kind of alcoholic burn in the back of his throat which was actually a pretty nice feeling. Through the mirrored glass of the high windows which over looked the main part of the airport he could see that the sun was shining causing the pools of water from the earlier rain to shimmer and shine. He had been here so many times with Shu making sure that all of his medicines were present and insurance papers were filled in correctly that it made him feel strange to be sat there and not doing anything.
His eyes moved from the window to his current travelling companion who was sipping a light beer and reading through a newspaper which was in English. He had no chance of being able to read it but judging from the character on the front of a man with a large fat face and beady little eyes and a pig snout it didn’t appear to be saying anything that was particularly nice. Sho sighed slowly and then folded the paper up tossing it over the table before flashing him a smile.
“Our company has interests in the UK it is beneficial for me to see how the market is blowing…Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be going well for them…” Sho explained and Masaki smiled trying hard to take an interest even if it seemed rather dull for him. It had been the same when Shu had talked business, it had always just flown straight over his head while he just nodded and smiled pretending that he understood and he asked lightly;
“Is that bad for your company?”
“...Actually at the moment if it carries on for a little bit longer it’s better for us…But not so good for them…At any rate it’s not worth me stepping in, the manager is handling it all very well from his side…” Sho shrugged sipping his drink and looking at his watch before going to the TV screen which was showing the times for the flights and Masaki admitted;
“I will never understand all that stuff…”
“You don’t have to…You spent your time much better…You learnt how to deal with people, something that I have a hard time doing…” Sho smiled and Masaki was left wondering if that was a compliment or not. It sounded like one but he couldn’t really be sure if it was because he wanted it to be one. He was starting to realise that he wanted more than friendship from the older man but he wasn’t completely sure if Sho wanted it in return. They had become close, he was sure of that, they were friends at least now and he needed to know Sho’s feelings for certain before he did something that might ruin that friendship. “When we return from the UK I will be more than happy to help you start up your charity…That is if you still want to use your inheritance…”
“I do! More than ever!” Masaki announced bobbing his head up and down frantically and Sho gave him a toothy grin his eyes shining with a warmth that might have been more than friendship. Before he could think about it anymore though their flight was called and quickly he grabbed his hand luggage.
