“My husband…” Kazu whispered softly boldly pressing his lips to his cheek before flushing and pulling away again surprised by the sheer look of happiness and wonder that was in Jun’s face as he did so. Jun’s cheeks flushed a little while his fingers moved over the spot before he recovered and reached out to him. Kazu allowed his hands to be taken and he was guided down into the chair nearest for the fire as he declared;
“Your face is cold, and your hands…Where have you been?”
“I went for a walk in the garden and I met Mr Hardy!” Kazu said trying hard to cover for his meeting with the blacksmith determined that his winter festival gift would remain a secret until the day. His eyes went up to Thomas who was standing somewhat awkwardly against the door. He was dressed in what he knew would be his best clothes but even they looked pathed and ragged against the finery that was what Kazu was fast considering to be Jun’s private sitting room. “Please come and sit down…And I will order tea…”
“Thank-you, my lord, my prince…” Thomas smiled at them both and then came and sat in the chair opposite them all. Kazu surprised himself and probably Jun by reaching out and tugging on the rope that ran down the wall next to them and summoned the maids. Kazu’s cheeks flushed just a little as he looked over at Jun who was smiling approvingly at him and he couldn’t, or rather wouldn’t, stop himself from sitting a little bit higher in his chair. He was the husband of a prince and the son of Lady Kazuko...And he had no connection what’s so ever to Ninomiya so that gave him some confidence. Even if it was something small…What was really giving him the boost of confidence was that Jun clearly trusted him.
“…Do you want tea, Mr Thomas…Or chocolate?” He asked with a hum as the Maid scurried inside bobbing a bow and waiting for the direction. “Or something stronger…”
“I do not drink…Alcohol I mean, my lord…” Thomas smile and Kazu felt himself relax happy that he was doing something right. “So Chocolate would be welcome…Thank-you…”
“Husband?”
“Chocolate is alright for me, my sprite...” Jun agreed with a smile his hand lifting as though he wanted to reach out and touch him but remembered what he had promised. Taking the decision for them both he reach out and linked their fingers together and then turned to the Maid and smiled at her the best he could and requested the desired chocolate for them all. The maid bobbed a curtesy at him and then left clicking the door into place behind her. “Thank-you for coming…”
“Thank-you for the invitation your highness…I take it that the lady Kazuko has confirmed my story?” Thomas asked causing Kazu to feel guilty that they had checked his story out with his mother but it was the logical thing to do, more so when he was claiming to know who his real father was. Jun answered sounding completely unashamed though saying;
“She said that she knew a Thomas Hardy…But she could not say if it was you but I see no reason to doubt you...You have walked as a blacksmith for us since I was a child…”
“Indeed…I fear that the church would have suited me very badly…” Thomas grinned the corners of his eyes wrinkling as his entire face lifted up into a bright a cherry smile “And I like to create things…”
“You are extremely good at doing so…”
“Thomas always was…” Kazuko’s voice whispered reaching them with a small but noticeable tremble and Kazu turned to look at her in surprise shocked that she looked like she had seen a ghost “…After all these years…You still look like the devil…”
“And you…Are still the prettiest thing the gods ever created…Though your son is a close second…It’s good to see you again Zu…”
“Likewise...”

A/N: I’m disappointed with myself…I was tempted to make Thomas actually Masaki’s and Nino’s father but…I realised that Ohno had met him and would have recognised him >.< And he was meant to look like Masaki :/
