krystalkatzficz“…He…He asked me…Me on a date…Oh god! Jun’s going to kill me…” Nino breathed as he watched Satoshi ride away his hand still around the milkshake that he hadn’t drank from at all yet. He had been expecting Satoshi to shout at him and threaten him not ask him out on a date and admit that he fancied him. He had wanted to say that yes he would go on the date but he hadn’t been able to get his tongue to work. It was completely impossible when the guy that he had been crushing on for a while was sitting in front of him staring at him with an intensity that he had seen only in movies before. There was no doubt in his mind that Jun was going to kill him or refuse to let him go.
“Then don’t tell him! Just say you’re meeting with me and I’ll cover for you if he rings…” Masaki shrugged coming to sit at the table with him drinking the chocolate milkshake and looking like his eyes were sparkling brightly with amusement as though he wanted to tease him a little but was managing to keep it at bay. “Since you’ve already made your mind up to go with him…”
“I can’t, I can’t do that if I have an episode…” Nino let out a long suffering sigh touching at his chest and feeling the ugly scar even through his t-shirt. “They have to know exactly where I’m going to be…”
“Somebody has to know exactly where you’ll be, same as with me, and I will know…And so will Sho-chan…” Masaki said and Nino tried to stall his own conflicting emotions by latching onto Masaki’s news about him and his boyfriend of lord knows how many years unofficially and 7 years officially. Sakurai Sho was a trainee accountant in the city and had been since three years ago but he made sure that he was with Masaki for as long as possible when possible and Masaki already had made plans to move in with him as soon as he was able to.
“Is he coming up?”
“Yeah! I have a hospital check on Friday and he’s staying with me all weekend!” Masaki grinned wildly showing off his straight white teeth before he was sucking on the straw of the chocolate milkshake and Nino smiled, feeling genuinely happy for his friend knowing how much Masaki loved his boyfriend and hated that they only had a small amount of time together.
“Lucky…But if Jun finds out that you’re with Sho then he will know that I won’t be with you…” Nino pointed out and Masaki’s face plummeted for a few moments and he chewed hard on his lower lip looking thoughtful.
“…Hmm…We could just say that you were tagging along?”
“Like an awkward third wheel?” Nino spluttered awkwardly, drinking from the milkshake and decided that if he hadn’t let it melt it would have been the best milkshake that he had ever had “Jun would never buy it; he knows I don’t like being around you when you’re being all sickly sweet! And I’m terrible at lying to Jun he always knows….”
“Yeah, it’s probably the only creepy twin thing about you two…”
“It’s only Jun that can do it! I can’t…” Nino pouted just a little as his phone started to buzz in his pocket with Darth Vader’s theme song indicating that it was his brother that was calling him “…He cares about me…”
“Yeah…So much that he’s stifling you…I know that he cares but…He does know that you are allowed to grow up right?” Masaki asked eyeing the phone as he pulled it out of his pocket and Nino rolled his eyes clicking answer slowly with his thumb waiting for his brother’s rant.
