“And how is my favourite patient today?” Sho asked walking into Nino’s room surprised and disappointed that his husband wasn’t there. It was the only reason that he had come down to see the bratty new parent and now it felt like a let-down. He tried not to let it show in his face though, more so when Nino laughed looking up from where he was feeding Shizuna and said;

“He’s not coming until later…He said that he was busy…”

“I…I came to see you…” Sho grumbled making a show of checking the charts on the wall and looking to Ohno for support but the sleepy faced artist just smiled blankly at him from over the top of his sketch book.

“That’s odd since you’re not a maternity doctor…” Nino said with a smirk his eyebrows wriggling around like two dancing caterpillars on his face “But if you must know, I’m bored…I wanna go home! Why are they keeping me in? I’m fine, Shi’s fine…We’re both fine…”

“Judging from your chart you should be able to go home tomorrow morning…” Sho said reading the other doctor’s scruffy handwriting carefully. “They kept you in because Shizuna is your first…But you appear to be bonding well and Shizuna’s doing well…”

“…She’s perfect!” Nino contradicted and Sho gave a laugh looking down at the small girl that he had brought into the world. “Wanna feed her?”

“…Um…Yeah…” Sho agreed numbly taking the little girl from his husband’s friend trying to avoid knocking the bottle out of her mouth. She was so small in his arms and he found it impossible to think of the twins that small. He worried about them enough as it was now but something this small he would have been terrified that he was going to break them. “How did he cope?

“Masaki? You’ve probably already seen…But he was a natural…No experience but he was changing nappies and making bottles like a pro…” Nino sighed sounding almost envious and Sho nodded easily able to imagine Masaki instantly being a perfect dad. The man seemed to be able to make things perfect even if it was just bacon and eggs. Being with Masaki, even when they were teens, was like being home, everything about him screamed comfort and caring and that feeling had only gotten stronger now. “I personally think that he focused so much on the twins so he could stop thinking about you…I doubt it worked but it gave him something to do…”

“…I also loved my children very much!” Masaki declared from the doorway and Sho turned keeping Shizuna pressed carefully against his chest an almost guilty expression on his face. “Sho-chan, you look so cute…I need a picture!” Masaki giggled pulling an old style camera out of his bag “Say cheese…”

“Cheese…” Sho laughed flushing just slightly as his photo was taken but it went away when Masaki pressed a kiss to his cheek his arms coming to wrap around him while the Jun came to the bed with a bunch of wild flowers.

“Um I picked these for you…”

“Aww, my little prince…” Nino laughed taking the flowers and sniffing them slowly confirming to all the adults in the room that Jun still wasn’t over his crush but he had accepted it. He turned to Ohno next and handed him a sheet of paper depicting Shizuna looking almost like a glow warm in her blanket.

“That’s for you uncle Satoshi…”

“Thank-you…I will treasure it…” Ohno smiled and Sho relaxed looking at his son who was smiling with happiness his eyes on Shizuna.
“Wanna hold her, little prince?” Nino asked patting the bed beside him and Sho smiled carefully handing the little girl to Jun. “You have to take care of my little girl…She hasn’t got any older brother’s…”

“I will! I’ll look after her! I promise!”

“Good boy…”
