“So this just needs my seal?” Masaki hummed looking at the forms that Sho was holding and Sho nodded a wave of excitement inside his chest. They were standing in the overgrown garden staring out over the lake. It was a strange setting but he was determined that even if they couldn’t have their wedding any time soon their signing would at least be as romantic as he could make it.
“Yeah…Just here…” Sho whispered opening up the paper and pointing to the area at the bottom where his own seal was waiting to be placed. “As soon as you’ve done that we have to go back to the hospital and get the Ohno’s to witness it…And then I can take it back to the office…”
“And then…We’ll finally be married…” Masaki breathed his face screwing up just a little causing the light wrinkles around his eyes and jaw to become more pronounced as he stared into his face their eyes locked together. “…What happens after that? Will you move in here? Or…”
“Would you like me to?” Sho asked his own answer of a very affirmative yes hanging on the very tip of his tongue. He had finally unpacked everything in his apartment but it didn’t feel like home. The only place that felt like home was the cluttered house that his lover and children lived in. He wanted very much to be able to send out a change of address form but he was worried that Masaki might still have reservations about them even though they were officially getting married.
“The house is old, not like your modern apartment” Masaki said slowly looking away from him now and back to the water “The tap in the bathroom leaks if you don’t turn it hard enough and I’m still trying to clear out the clutter from all the rooms…I don’t like glass, or steel very much…Um…I hate the colour white! It looks so empty I would rather have a squiggle than a blank wall and the house smells funny when it’s been raining…I think that it’s because there’s a hole in the roof but I haven’t had time to try and fix it…The kids have been on their best behaviour so far but they can throw tantrums as much as I could…”
“Masaki, I like the fact that the house is old, it just means that it has lots of character that my modern apartment doesn’t have, I’m positive that I’ll forget about the tap in the bathroom but I’ll try not to and I’m happy to help you go through the clutter in the rooms…” Sho chuckled capturing his chin and pulling him back so they were looking at each other again “I did like glass and steel but lately all I’ve liked is patchwork colours and I don’t think that I could go back to white after the walls in your home…The funny smell doesn’t bother me but if you want I can get on the roof and try and fix it and I…I always loved your tantrums…Other than all of that, this is the one place that I’ve ever felt at home…And I would like very much if I could live with you here…”
“Then I suppose you’d better…And I better sign these papers…” Masaki whispered shyly taking his seal from out of his pocket and Sho gave a laugh kissing his lips once before taking out his own seal and pressing it to the paper as crisply as he could manage. Masaki nervously did the same letting out a shaky sounding laugh as he did so “There Sho-chan…We’re married…”
“Almost…”
