Cherry blossoms swirled high in the air, carried around in looping patterns before dropping to the ground like little pink snowflakes on the day of Nino and Masaki’s graduation. The whole thing was done outside under a line of trees and Masaki doubted if there was a more beautiful location. He had already moved most of his things into the little four bedroomed house that Sakurai had brought for them and tonight, officially his last day as a high school student was the first night that he would be living with his lover officially. It was daunting and he was going to miss his parents, he knew that he would be ringing each day to make sure his mum hadn’t accidently burnt the house down or something just as bad, but most of all he was excited and happy that he was going to be living with his lover. He looked out of the crowds of parents and family now smiling first at his own parents and grandparents before moving his eyes to the man that was standing next to them. Sakurai caught him staring and gave a wink and grin before motioning for him to turn back to the podium where the head master had just started to speak.
It was the same speech that he gave every year and Masaki had heard it last year when he had snuck out of his lesson and sat behind a bush with Nino. It wasn’t like anyone was bothered on the day of graduation to actually study as most people wanted to see their favourite seniors just once more. He gave a small sigh aware that he was going to have to give a little speech of his own and at the moment he wasn’t completely sure how it was going to go as he had hastily put it together the night before. All too soon the head master had finished his speech and Masaki felt all eyes on him as he made his way down the line of students to the temporary stage. Once behind the podium he swallowed down a thick, uncomfortable knot of nerves from the back of his throat before taking out his speech.
“Today is the last day of our school lives…Soon we will go to college our to work and maybe we will forget what we did here, the friends that we made…But we will never forget the things that we learned…That life is unexpected filled with once in a lifetime moments that may seem like nothing…Like accidently touching somebody else’s hand on a tin of soup…A seemingly random thing that could mean something magical! You have to find the magic…And keep finding it over and over and never let it go…There will be trouble but even in paradise there can be trouble but it’s still paradise, ne! In the future let’s meet again ne?”
There was silence for a minute or two but then a large round of applause broke out as Masaki almost ran for his seat. It was not the best speech in the world but at least he had gotten his almost confession out. The rest of the ceremony was dull and he was glad when he had his certificate in hand and he could run over to his parents and Sakurai. Nino was already with his father when he arrived but he stepped aside for him so Sakurai could whisper in his ear;
“Ready?”
“Yes!”
THE END
A/N: Hmm it wasn’t very good, I apologise >.< but on a brighter not I am actually finishing stories now so that’s good ne?
