He was a prodigy, he had graduated high school at the top of his class and had been in the top 20% in the country in his exams. College had been no big deal for him and he had soon been offered a place in his dream firm. Working his way up through the ranks and setting himself apart from the rest of the interns had made it so that he had his own office. Most people would have thought that he had been living the dream life, he knew that his classmates from both school and college felt like that, and he had felt like that too. His life had been structured and organised, there had been no time for friends or even family but he had considered that a small price to pay for his goal, a goal that had been almost in sight and then…As if by some kind of gift he had met him…The man…Boy that was destined to change his life.
“The police station?” Ohno asked looking up from his computer to stare at his boss reminding himself to try and keep a composed but friendly expression on his face not wanted to show his dislike of the idea. He was well aware that his company handled criminal defence as well as corporate law but as his boss was corporate he hadn’t been expecting to have to defend a client but now he was being told that he had to do defence.
“Yes, I apologise, Ohno-san, I know that you are more interested in corporate law but…There really is no one else…” The older man told him, his lined and tired face showing no signs of condolence and Ohno immediately translated his statement for what it was. It was that that there was no one else but that there was nobody that wanted to take the case, meaning that there was no chance that they could win and no chance that it could help any bodies career. He may have set himself apart from the other interns but he was still the lowest of the low and as such he was the one without an established reputation that could be ruined.
“Very well…I will leave now…” He said flashing just the hint of a smile inclining his head as he took the folder from his boss and then saved his work on the computer and organised his briefcase. He left the office quietly waving for a taxi knowing that he would read through the case on his way to the station. Flicking through the file he could see why nobody had wanted to take the case, it was what was called open and closed. The whore, Ninomiya Kazunari, had been trying to round up business when he had come on to an undercover cop and had been arrested. There was nothing that he could defend. He gave a very small smile and rubbed his eyes carefully placing the folder back into his briefcase as they pulled up outside of the police station.
It didn’t take long before he was inside the station and being led down a long polished corridor that smelt strongly of disinfectant. The officer leading him paused and then pushed open a door leading him into a small room that held a young boy dressed in a sheer shirt that showed off his body and low riding jeans that clung to his hips.
“Ninomiya-kun? I am Ohno Satoshi…I will be your lawyer…”
TBC
A/N: I hope that this was okay ^_^
