“What are you wrapping now?” Jun asked in a whisper as he came into the living room after putting the twins to bed. There was already more presents than tree cluttering up there living room but now Nino seemed to be adding another two dozen at least. Nino looked up and him his teeth half way through some Cellotape as he answered softly;

“The kids presents from Santa…”

“The kids already have a million presents…Why would they need more…” Jun muttered sitting behind his lover and jerking his thumb at the presents that were already spilling out over the floor all brightly wrapped in cheerful paper.

“Oh those things are just the boring things, you know socks, pants, and t-shirts…” Nino shrugged offhandedly as he unfurled another roll of wrapping paper that was completely different to any other that was already in the house and Jun also noted that these were much more professionally wrapped whereas the ones under their gaudy Christmas tree were all wrapped with love over skill. It was a nice touch and even before Nino continued Jun already knew why “These are the real things…The toys that make so much noise that we’ll want to take out the batteries in a few hours, the sweets that will make them sick…The stuff that only Santa brings…”

“You’ve been a regular Christmas elf this year…” Jun chuckled leaning forward and pressing his face into the chest unable to believe that it was Christmas Eve already. It only felt like a second since they were in the hospital waiting for their babies to be born and now they were going to be one year old enjoying their first real Christmas.

“…I know but…I also know that I’ve been an almost jerk since we were forced to come out…This isn’t to make up for that…But I want to prove to you that I don’t regret it…And…I…I love you and the twins more than I loved being in Arashi…” Nino mumbled his eyes fixed on the wrapping paper that was in front of him but Jun could tell that he was flushing a deep scarlet colour.

“Idiot…I already knew that…” He laughed kissing the bit of the neck that he could see before untangling himself from his lover and saying “Right…Best first Christmas coming up… What would you like me to do?”

“…Hmm….You can wrap those…” Nino said jerking his head over at the stack of presents in the corner and Jun gave a salute nodding slowly as he went to do as he was told knowing that this really was going to be the best first Christmas for their twins.
