Kazu walked down to the taxi with his boyfriend that night knowing that even if his parents found it suspicious he needed to say something to the artist. They walked for the most part in a comfortable silence leaving enough space between them that there wasn't even a chance for accidental touching of fingers or arms. As soon as they were clear of the restaurant and apartment though Kazu drew in all the courage that he had inside of him to quickly press his lips to Ohno's in a kiss that lasted even less than their one earlier.

“Thank-you for agreeing to the press conference and even bringing it forward for Shoko-nee and Masaki…it means a lot…” Kazu told him as he took a step back lapping at his lips to saviour the feeling. Ohno gave him a smile that seemed strained nodding his head a little before giving a sigh and stamping his foot walking over to a low laying wall that over looked the stream that ran alongside their restaurant. As children he and Masaki used to come here to collect fireflies and other bugs…or, more accurately, Masaki did while he came and sat in the same place Ohno was supervising. It was an odd memory to pop up at that moment but he was replaying a lot of his memories with Masaki at the minute and that memory was doubly important at that moment as Shoko was normally there when they were doing it. She was the one that had told Masaki the best ways to catch the horrible little creatures though it had been Masaki that had touched them.

“I despise reporters and press and the entitlement that people think they have over you just because they think they know you…” Ohno's butter sounding voice reached his ears pulling him out of his memory so he was looking at his lover and guessed, from the expression on his face, that he was talking from experience.

“…Something like that happened with you?” He asked gently Ohno studied him for a second before giving a brisk nod his running his fingers down his jaw and resting then against his chin as he mumbled his answer;

“Not me personally…a close friend of mine was hounded a few years ago…” Kazu frowned at the half answer sensing that Ohno still didn't want to talk about whatever happened and he didn't push him any further “very few members of the press care what happens to the person they write about as long as they get to have their name attached to something. It doesn't even matter if what they're saying is complete rubbish because they can always back track later…”

“Shoko-nee isn't like that…” Kazu denied knowing that his friend hated that kind of thing as much as Ohno did. She wanted to be a serious reporter and he half suspected that that was why this had happened, to try and discredit her.

“…I bet you're right fairy, I doubt anybody that you and Masaki like could possibly be like that…” Ohno smiled as they looked up at the sound of a car “that will be the taxi coming…” Ohno hummed needlessly and Kazu nodded disappointment folding through him as he realised that he didn't want Ohno to leave. “I'll see you tomorrow right, fairy?”

“…yeah…”

“Don't look so down…” Ohno gave a laugh getting to his feet and coming to stand in front of him just as the taxi was pulling up and shining it's light on them both. In the next breath Kazu found himself being kissed briefly before the older man moved away smiling and waving as he went to get in the taxi “see you tomorrow, fairy…”
