On Gossamer Wings part 44
“I’m so sorry, fairy…No wonder you’ve been looking so sad…” Ohno breathed reaching out and cupping the pale cheek of his little fairy wishing that he had made sure that the message had been sent. He was beginning to see how hurtful he whole attitude towards Kazu had been since the message hadn’t been sent. This whole falling in love thing was a lot more complicated than he had first thought. “I really am sorry…”
“…I…You…You still like…Like me then?” Kazu asked his cheeks flushing so quickly and so fast that Ohno couldn’t stop a laugh from leaving his mouth as he pulled the boy into his arms and hugging the air out of his lungs as he whispered into his ear;
“Of course I still like you, dummy fairy…”
“…I’m…Glad…” Kazu whispered nervously causing him to chuckle again pulling out of the hug to look at him his fingers cupping at his chin. He tried to focus on the eyes that were displaying so many emotions all at once that it was mesmerising but the little pink lips were just being too tempting by far. “You…Can kiss me again…”
“…You’re an evil little fairy…You really shouldn’t tempt me like that here…” Ohno whispered almost whining as he moved away deciding that he deserved a medal for not taking what was on offer even though he desperately wanted to. He sighed again and closed his eyes trying to push away all of his feelings before he whispered in a croaky voice “I think that Jun is right…That we should respect your parent’s house…But...I’m guessing that your brother knows…About us?”
“…Yes…I told him…Um…I’m sorry…”
“No that’s fine…How about you both come and spend the day on the boat tomorrow? If you come early in the morning then we can go fishing…” Ohno suggested a spark coming to him as he saw Kazu’s eyes light up at prospect and Ohno got another flash of inspiration “If it makes your parents feel better we can invite Jun as well…”
“Okay…I’ll tell them tonight…Thank-you…” Kazu grinned again his eyes flashing with so much raw happiness and excitement that Ohno had to force himself to walk out of the bathroom to be able to say that he had kept his cool and not done anything inappropriate. Tomorrow they would be able to sneak kisses like they were both teenagers but for today he was going to be a professional artist.
“…Um…Drink and then…Then we’d better get back to work…” He said as he left the bathroom nodding to himself, yes he definitely deserved a medal for this, or at the very least a pat on the back because this was some kind of torture. He swallowed heading back out into the living room somehow not surprised that Masaki was watching him with narrowed suspicious eyes, eyes that widened in surprise moments later when Kazu reappeared flushed and happy acting as if they had spent their time fooling around. Masaki’s shocked expression quickly cleared to become a small smile and it was Ohno’s turn to blush when he saw the thumbs up he gave. Yes this falling in love thing was a lot more complicated than it had to be.
