Nino froze his hands on his games. He felt like a rabbit caught in the headlights. He saw that both Aiba’s and Jun’s eyes were wide as all three of them stared at each other. He scraped a tongue over his dry lips his heart thudding in his ears, he took a deep breath, which caused a fluttering feeling to flow over his body, as he dropped his games back down before moving forwards. His feet felt like they were made of lead. He stepped out into the hall his heart completely stopping when he saw Sakurai standing by door a six pack of beer under one arm, takeaway boxes in the other. He looked completely unlike himself, there was at least a week’s worth of stubble on his chin and it became obvious that he hadn’t shaved since they had seen him in the village.
“Kazu… You’re back…” Sakurai gasped moving forward and Nino flinched coiling away from him
“We’re here for my stuff” He mumbled and Sakurai stopped blinking slowly as he tried to process the words
“We?” He managed slowly and Nino nodded licking his lips as he whispered
“Aiba… And Jun”
“You brought him here?” Sakurai growled and Nino felt his heckles raise quickly
“Why shouldn’t I? At least I have my clothes on” He snapped even though he didn’t mean to. Snapping at Sakurai when he brought up Jun wasn’t the way to go. He saw Sakurai flinch as if he had been struck and Nino tried to ignore the feelings that rose up inside him. Maybe it would have been easier if he could just hate his ex-boyfriend but he couldn’t. Aiba was right when he said that the apartment was a shrine to Sakurai’s self-pity and Nino could believe that he was only doing to make him feel sorry for him, he knew that in his mind, but the point was it was working.
“Jun, Masa… Will you take those boxes to the apartment?” He asked in a calm voice keeping his eyes fixed on Sakurai. There were only about two boxes ready but he thought that he needed to do this alone. There were a few sounds of shifting around in the bedroom and they came out carrying the boxes in their hands. Jun dropped a kiss on his cheek as he passed and Nino managed to flash him a smile his hand going to stroke his back “I’ll be okay, J” he murmured and the doctor gave a nod shooting Sakurai a hard look before following Aiba out of the apartment. The door clicked as it closed behind them leaving him and Sakurai alone in the apartment staring at each other from opposite ends of the hall. Nino took a breath wishing that he hadn’t when the disgusting smell filled his nostrils again “You could at least open a window!”
“...Kazu…” Sakurai said softly but Nino ignored him going into the living room and throwing open the window breathing in deeply as fresh air rushed into the apartment, breaking into the smell.
“You should throw that in the bin…It looks like you’ve ate enough crap…”
“Why should you care?” Sakurai asked putting the beers and food down onto an already unstable pile in the side and Nino gave a loud hiss folding his arms across his chest
“Oh stop it, if you want to throw a one man pity party you can continue to do that after I’ve left…” He snapped venomously, his eyes flashing with anger “You fucked around on me, Sho so please stop acting like I’m the bad guy…”
“I’m not…” Sakurai started but Nino held up his hand to silence him before waving it around to take in the mess, even nudging some of the bottles with his foot sending them rolling as much as they could over the debris on the floor, which included the stack of photographs.
“So what… He dumped your butt too?”
“I told you it was over between me and Sato’…” Sakurai answered and Nino nodded looking down at the photos, there were some on a boat looking out over a clear sea, stupid happy grins on both their faces their eyes shining with happiness.
“So… This was that business trip you took?” He asked nudging it rather more roughly than he had intended with his foot
“… Yes…” Sakurai answered and Nino sighed running his hand through his hair trying to reign in his emotions wanting to stay as calm as possible.
“I thought… I thought that you looked too tanned for a business trip… But I didn’t see… No I didn’t want to see it…” He whispered his heart aching when he thought about that. It was two months ago they had been arguing more than ever over stupid silly things that didn’t even seem important when Sakurai had announced that he had a business trip. Nino had just been glad that when Sakurai had come home he was in a lot better mood. He had fucked him on this sofa their bodies moving in such a way that had made his whole body sing and now he knew that it was because Sakurai would have been thinking about Ohno.
“Wa-s…” His voice squeaked as even though he didn’t want it to he gave a cough clenching his hands tight before continuing “Was there any others? I mean how many of us are there?”
“There was only Sato… I didn’t fuck anyone else…I don’t even know how this happened… He was just so…” Sakurai mumbled sinking down onto the sofa looking down at the photos.
“So you are in love with him…” Nino sighed wondering why he felt like the other man, like he was the one that had been getting in the way of Sakurai and Ohno’s relationship
“I’m in love with you… I love you…”Sakurai said in a shaky voice but to Nino it sounded like he was trying to convince himself as much as he was trying to convince him. “I really love you…”
“And I still love you…I always will…But I don’t want to be with you anymore and deep down you don’t want to be with me… You want to be with him…You just didn’t have balls to say anything…”
“… Kazu…I just didn’t want to hurt you…” Sakurai murmured reaching out to touch his face but Nino pulled away
“Well you did… In fact coming home and finding you like that hurt me in every single way you could think off…”
“Kazu… Seriously I wasn’t… If I thought that you would be coming home…It was the first and only time we ever did it here…”
“And Sato he didn’t care about doing it in here? I’m assuming that he knew about me, I mean my picture was right there he fucking came all over it… And it wasn’t as if I hadn’t been with you when you went to buy paint…” Nino said slowly staring into Sakurai’s face searching for the answer. It was like a bad tooth that you couldn’t stop probing until you got pain, he wanted Sakurai’s confirmation that he loved Ohno. It was possible that it was because if Sakurai did tell him that it would ease the almost guilt he was feeling about Jun
“Kazu… We weren’t thinking…” Sakurai whined reaching out again and this time Nino allowed him to touch his face
“No you were… You even cooked… Sho please just tell me the truth… You love him don’t you?”
“Yes…Yes I love him, I love him more than I ever thought I would when we started…” Sakurai sighed his hand falling away and hitting his leg and the actor gave a sigh, blinking away a tear that had been irritating him for a while. His hands shaking as he nodded
“That’s all you ever had to tell me and it would have hurt less than this…”
“Kazu… I’m sorry…”
“… I… I think… I need some… Air” Nino breathed turning and running out of the apartment, just like the bad tooth, after you really did push it too far and the pain really did come. Shooting straight into your system and giving you the pain that you didn’t really want. He ran out down the stairs not waiting for the elevator running out into the street not knowing where he was going. He ran as fast as he could until his lungs started hurting and he ended up leaning against a building
Nino looked up, letting out a bitter choked laugh when he saw that he was at the department store, of all the places he could have run to in this stupid town why the hell had he ended up here? He asked himself sucking in a gulp of oxygen he went inside, wondering if it was a cruel twist of fate that made Ohno the first person that he saw saying in a soft sleepy sounding voice

If Sho didn't say anything at least Ohno could have realized that Sho was not leaving Kazu. I just can't... if it was a short time maybe, because it could occur as they put things in the open after, but one year!!! That's a no no for me.
