Stray Cat part 26
Jun had calmed down considerably when the door opened and Nino slipped inside a fairly large canvas bag on his back. His face was paler than when he left and his eyes were as blood shot as his probably were. Nino was in full stray, skittish kitten mode as he walked towards and dropped the bag down in front of him. Aiba had made himself scarce as soon as the door handle rattled leaving them alone staring at each other in a long drawn out silence that unnerves him and left him feeling both breathless and unnerved by the whole thing.
“…You’re back…” Jun whispered eventually knowing that his voice was steeped in a thick layer of surprise. His mouth was uncomfortably dry as his Adam’s apple bobbed up and down. He tried to swallow but it felt as if his mouth was glued shut. Nino gave a shrug biting on his lip and looking sheepish.
“I told you that I would be…” He breathed and Jun flinched at how raw and broken his voice sounded “J…This is only for a month…A month and then I’m gone…”
“Why? Why now…Just tell me…Please…” The actor asked slowly and Nino shook his head snapping;
“No…That isn’t a part of the deal…You wanted me here and I’ll be here with you but I’m not telling you…”
“Fine...But please, Nin…Don’t act like I’m keeping you prisoner…” Jun pleaded taking a step towards his lover his hands reaching out to him and a pain, almost like the slicing of a knife into his skin, shoot through him when he watched Nino dodge away from his hand.
“You are aren’t you?” Nino growled “I told you that I wanted to leave and then you force me to stay…For fucks sake couldn’t you just accepted that I’m not in love with you anymore…”
“Liar! If that was true you wouldn’t have even come back to say goodbye…You don’t even really want to leave me…” Jun said as if just realising that that was the truth or at least the truth that he wanted to believe. It had been Aiba that had put that suggestion into his head earlier but he hadn’t processed that as the truth but now he did or at the very least he thought he did “You’re just a coward…Everything that you’ve ever done is because you’re a coward…And right now the only reason you came back for this month is because you love me and you don’t want to leave…”
“…I’m not a coward…” Nino mumbled in a rather pathetic voice as he stomped his feet around. He didn’t make an attempt to leave however and Jun thought that proved his point about the whole thing he was surprised when a voice he didn’t recognise said softly from the doorway;
“Yes…You are Kazu…”
Nino’s face changed all at once going from the angry red to a very ashen white in the space of a few seconds as he turned around his head moving so fast that Jun was sure he would give himself whiplash. His eyes followed the movement shocked when he saw his bodyguard standing behind a tanned man with sleepy looking eyes.
“What are you doing here? You said that you would stay out of it…”
“Who the hell are you?”
